The upcoming Equestria Girls dolls (large pic)

I agree, LunaMadison. I think turning them into real girls is going too far with it. They're ponies. I kind of thought that was the point -- you know, that you can have a little pony all your own.

I don't like the painted on clothing, either. The legs on these particular dolls are very odd and thin. Rarity looks so very sad as well.

I'm not really sure where EG is going -- are they ponies or girls or some kind of mutants?
 
I collect MLP not dolls so I really don't care for them. :rollingeyes:

They look very cheap and poor quality. The outfits look very same mold thing happening but different colours. Not at all quality like monster high dolls. Yikes...
 
If it's a movie/special then I'm more interested. I thought it was a spin-off show for awhile and didn't get it at all.

I might pick up some of the dolls as an example of how ubiquitous MLP is, but I've been saying for ages that I should pick up some G3.5's to have to show people what they look like, and I never do it even when I can get them for free.

ha - now I know who to give my big heads (G3.5) to - and you know I will, Far Dreamer ;-)

back on topic...

I kinda like the sci-fi angle (like I love how new star trek mucked with the timeline to allow "old" characters to be different) BUT to me, the beauty of MLP was that while maybe there were some elements of anthro in the older gens, the way FiM is so twisting it now to be = here are the personas people = be the ponies / identify with the ponies etc. I'm just like "no I don't want to be a pony. I love to ride horses and I love being around horses and people who love horses, but I'm not a pony, sorry. And my kids are not ponies either..."

As much as I love the novi stars doll line and got my girls the full set, if my kids don't ask for these dolls, I am so not going to get them as they just make me think the only reason EG are out as a product is to compete with the monster high doll line and I'm like - don't cross the streams, man, just keep the ponies as ponies and the monsters as monsters and we can all get along without trying to battle for the same turf

just my two cents
 
rainbow dash and flutershy look the best from that picture, i am not sure of the rest.

i would like to see these dolls in person before i judge. plus are they going to actually look like the pictures that are posted or will they change them again for the final production
