I was very un-optimistic about this live action remake since I adored the original cartoons. However, Frankie is they/them, the actors all are relatable in that they have human figures, and Nickelodeon does the music in a much different way than Disney. I’m still not sure, but happier. E still likes draculuara, too. :redheart:

I will have to check it out!

Im personally really excited for it!! <3 After all, this live action doesnt replace the animation or past animation. Theyre having both and the new dolls look really good. I just hope I can snag one! :0 Quite frankly (lol unintentional pun) im surprised they finally made Frankie They/Them since they kept the characters from being lgbtqia+ for a longgg time even when the designers and writers tried to push for it. They were close to making Valentine gay and Mattel backed out againn. Took them long enoughhh. :rolleyespony: now we can only hope they continue to progress! :purpleheart:

I don't have strong feelings about it. Mattel has always been mediocre on the media side of things. The MH show had a few funny lines, but was quite bland and cliche.

I’ve been seeing ads for that for months and the song they keep playing has kinda grown on me :) plus making something a musical always makes it better!
Nick does have a history of making terrible live action movies based on cartoons though so I’m not sure about it

I just hope they right Cleo De Nile right.

I'm excited for the toys and any future animation. Can't say I care that much about the new live action but I'm not that much into live action for toy shows anyway.

Super on board with Frankie being non-binary! The designers gotta go through so many hoops to get any LGBTQ rep through I'm shocked it made it! Here's hoping we get more. :D

I'm still a little peeved they made Lagoona pink, but gotta make sure no one forgets this is supposed to be a "girl" line I guess :/

It is strange they made her pink, but I actually think she’s really cute :)

It makes sense to make Frankie non-binary, because they are supposed to be parts from other bodies, so they could have both male and female body parts which could make them non-binary? To me makes more sense to have Frankie that way over other characters

That was our reasoning, too! Plus, procreation? It was a little strange how Frankie had so many male characters associated with them in the original cartoon, but never seemed to stay with any as more than friends.

@Skybreeze E still loves draculuara. :twohearts: Nice that some things don’t change.

I really love the new dolls! <3 I cant wait to get some!! The designs arent that different to me aside from Lagoona really, I love the fresh new (and actually good quality) take on them! After all, mattel is still actively selling new dolls in the old mold/designs of dolls too. So i feel we really have our cake and can eat it too. :lolpony:

I also agree about Frankie, it makes total sense for them to be non binary seeing as theyre made of lots of different parts. Im just happy theres another non binary doll option, people deserve doll (and media in general) representation for lots of commuties. Everyone deserves that wonderful feeling of seeing themselves in something they love. :twohearts:

I was at TRU yesterday and I’m not sure how I feel about the toys. They look off to me.

I think the new Lagoona looks pretty cute and Cleo’s awesome, I love her outfit, makeup and her little pet. The Clawdeen and Draculura don’t really look great to me though, maybe they are better in person

Sadly I don’t have nick so I can’t watch the movie. But I did pick up the new Cleo doll. She so pretty.

Terrible. It’s so awful and it’s not even finished yet.

So much of the MH lore has been changed and it’s frustrating for someone who isn’t even a fan. I enjoy the movies and the cartoons (shorts) and the dolls are nice, but I can’t say I’m a “fan.”

I can’t imagine how the “real” fans of the brand and shows/movies will feel.

I was able to catch it yesterday and I have... conflicted feelings.

I don't mind them switching up the lore so much but it did feel like it wanted to be like the Descendants movie but didn't give any character besides Clawdia a chance to develop. The story was pretty shaky too. We're enlightened enough for gender diversity but humans and anything associated with them are all evil???

Also I'm big mad Clawd just doesn't exist? So no Dracula and Clawd?? :(

The kids that played the main 3 were good, especially Frankie's actor.

EDIT: Draculaura and Clawd lol... I misnamed Clawdeen name wrong -_-;

I havent seen the movie yet but im still optimistic! I dont mind changes as long as they're done well. Theyve already changed it once before so idk which version theyre working with. I got my dolls finally and theyre super cuteee, and im saving the movie for closer to halloween. I think usually fans split into different sections of love, hate, neutral, etc with any fandom when new content comes out. Thats okay, and honestly just the way it is. I look at it as, people loved g1 ponies, and g2 ponies were sooo different a lot of people didnt like them but to others theyre favorites. So its really just, an everyone is different thing. Some people like them all, some people like certain gens, etc. :happyhearts:
(Well with the exception of the last reboot where they lowered quality so badly to be cheepos as mattel does, we were right to ask for better)
