What is this? Mystery So Soft Spike?!

Ah okay that makes sense. It does look much older in that close up.

Those eyes remind me of the Glow Worm eyes so much.

How cute, I want one!!

It looks Derp eyed LOL And its adorable....
I know, isn't it? Should I get him? It was in a lot with some other ponies. What do you guys think?

This picture is interesting... It looks like there were at least two in the set.
I may have to go all detective mode to try to figure out this mystery... :coolpony:
I hope you can find more information! It's going to bug me forever!
That artist is extremely talented and her work is gorgeous. This dragon doesn't really measure up in my opinion as far as eye work, color and a clean look about the sculpt. He is cute but doesn't completely represent her art style. I have admired that artist for a while now. I want one of her sea ponies badly, they are just too expensive for me lol. I really think this is a manufactured toy.
I asked the person on eBay and they said that their daughter had it since the 80s, and it had been boxed up with her ponies.
Such a cutie <3 It doesn't look MLP or dragon to me... More like salamander etc. Now I'm interested to know which toy line it is!
I believe it's a dinosaur.

I searched "flocked dragon toy" to find the picture I found but it is very dinosaur-esque

There has to be something. Guys, dig deeper into the internet. Go into the 90s part of the internet. There has to be something.

Oh no! Not the 90s!!!!! GIFS everywhere! Neon hyperlinks! Cluttered backgrounds!
The horror! The horrrroooorrr!!!
We must do what we must do.

Soma also made a weird fakie Creamsicle the Giraffe and Edgar the Elephant, both of these seem to have dropped off the face of the earth.

Ooh, that's very interesting! I've seen Edgar, but I'd love to see Creamsicle!

If they did make fakies of other pony friends, then it seems likely that they would have made a Spike as well. My main reason for discounting Soma as the producer of these particular figures is that I can't seem to find any flocked Soma figures.

Here are the fakie Creamsicles, they came in banana and blueberry flavors

Also, I think these are some other dinosaur toys Soma made

Two new things. I'm going all over the place for this, lol.
This is a lot of Soma dinosaurs: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5337556153&icep_item=121759169748 They have a bunch of similar poses but none of them are exactly the same as the one at the beginning of this thread.
An update on Loving Heart Dinosaurs: I found this pattern on for sale on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/238205575/1980s-stuffed-dinosaurs-toy-pattern labelled "Babysaurs" which is one of the other trademarks registered to Just For Kids, Inc. Definitely not what we're looking for, but it gives me hope that I might be able to find some pictures of the Loving Heart Dinosaurs. The adult in the one photo appears to have a heart on its chest, which is what makes me suspect this might be it.
We'll see!
