Who is the quintessential MLP?

Applejack for me. She was one of my first MLP's as a kid, and I still have her today.

For me it's definatley Bowtie. She was my very first my little Pony, and is also my most favorite :)

her shy pose, freckles and name that matches what her symbols are, just define MLP for me :)

I would have to say Sundance. She's just so versatile, and representive of ponies in all forms. Definately Sudance.

I'm obviously gonna say Moondancer. Everyone I know likes her! I admit, her pose may not be the greatest, but at least she's not afraid to wear fender thighs! XD I can relate to her there. Besides, Sunbeam's in that pose, too, so she should get equal blame.

Moondancer plays the quintessential part in all of us: the trickster! Laughing, carefree, and wild, she is what we all are deep down. Her pose always struck me as more graceful than the goose-stepping pose of Glory. Everyone I know seems to prefer Moondancer. I've had a 50 year old teacher tell me that she was absolutely crazy about her!

While Glory is what we think of all unicorns, Moondancer is playful and nutsy and exactly the opposite. She's different from other unicorns at the time, as she's less mystical in that sense and more of the Coyote from the trickster tales of the Southwest.

So while Glory is probably more conventional and classic and almost always gets nominated first, Moondancer is what we are inside, therefore making her, in my opinion, the quintessential pony. She has a different sort of beauty as well, a spirited beauty that those who understand her can see, while Glory's is more on the surface.

I'm done. XD

I would say Firefly or Sundance, thanks to the MLP cartoons which made them famous.

Applejack or Majesty.

Sundance doesn't do it for me, because it seems like she is "owned" by Megan, she doesn't seem as free as the other ponies.

This is an interesting thread!

I'd have to say as far as the whole G1 line is concerned, Firefly does seem to represent the line very well. She's got the whole color scheme going on, adventurous personality, and a little bit of magic as she's a pegasus.

To me personally, Applejack does it. She's simple. No frills. Exactly what a MLP should be. :)

This is a tough question, b/c there are so many!

Firefly would be the obvious answer, but I remember seeing Wind Whistler more often in the movies.
And of course anyone that knows me, knows I love Medley!

For some reason Shady used to always stand out to me a lot to......

For me it is Majesty with herSpike and her Dream Castle.....

I'm glad someone said it! Majesty, Applejack and Bowtie are for me the quintessential MLPs.. partly because I never had my own ponies as a child and Marie-Claire-next-door who had ponies would NEVER let me touch Majesty because she was the Queen. I was allowed Posie and occasionally Medley. She possibly had Firefly but I don't remember.
So picking just one, I'm with Canazta - Majesty was the first Queen of Ponyland.

I came up with Firefly too! She's pink, but not TOTALLY pink (being a MLP is about being a rainbow of colors ;) ), she's a pegasus (when people think of MLPs they think of pegasi and unicorns), she's pretty but also brave.

For the G3s, I think Pinkie Pie is the quintessential pony, but Minty is the best personality. Minty has much more personality and spunk than the average G3 and she also tries to do what's right (like going to the North Pole to straighten things out with Santa. ;) )
