*cries* evil sniper!! i know it's wrong to say you hate someone who just beat you out of an eBay auctiion but I'm sorry I do right now. See I asked last niught about the pearly babies because....

HUGE MY LITTLE PONY LOT OF 45 G3 W/ ACCESSORIES - eBay (item 170438140765 end time Jan-30-10 06:02:55 PST)

it went a dollar over at the last second-THE LAST SECOND!!! i was up until like 1 am because of my sister's party; i had to sleep in the freezing family room because my sister kicked me out of my room so she and her friend could have our room, i slept on the floor rather than the lumpy couch. and yet i STILL got up early to watch my auction because stupid eBay didn't text message me in the middle of the night when i was outbid. i was already over my limit but this was a once in a life time oppertunity-ONCE IN A LIFE TIME! AND IT WENT A DOLLAR OVER?!?!?!?!?!

i would've done it. i was refeshing every other second....i just...i just wanna cry now. there were sooooo many ponys in there that i really wanted and could never afford singly. and the pearly babies...i'm never gonna get another shot at those. i know it's stupid to cry, but i'm so tired, and i was just so excited cause it looked like i was gonna win and i..i...i...i'm just gonna go cry now.

i know in the long run it's probably better that i have my money and not the ponys but yeah...i'm just gonna go cry now. sorry to have ranted but i just...i just never d id that before and...yeah i'll go cry...

Heyheyheyheyhey I need this like quickly. I have an option to try to get the two of these with a bunch of ponys and I need to figure out if it's worth it or not. And any PC I found on here is like a year old. So please can someone help me and quickly?

I had always been told the Pearly babies go for about 25-35 each depending on who's buying. I just sold Surprise for 25.00 and she's the most common from what I can tell. Glory could easily be 30-40 depending both her condition and someone's willingness.

I need them both. *sigh* and those prices Merry Treats listed sound fair!

I agree with the above prices.

I was very lucky last week and I won a Glory for $12.72 :D

I'm sure the winner bid more than a dollar over, but that was next set bid increment. I get outbid alot on ponies I want, but I manage to snag one for a good price every once in a while.

*pat, pat*
The high bidder might have bid $50 more than you did, you'll never know but here's hoping you'll get a good deal on those pearlies next time. *sprinkles pony genie JOY dust over you* You can set up auction snipes for yourself using esnipe. It's such a blessing to have! I love not having to stay up late to snipe, or miss auctions!

yes i know it was probably more than a single dollar; they could've put in $300 and have automaticly gotten it no matter what. especially if done through that esnipe thing...i think that's cheating...but oh well

but it wasn't just the pearlys (wich yes were a big deal because I can't recreate those), there was also UK Winter Snow, and the minty green (not minty) diva, and several darker blue G3s i wanted for a project, and Portabella, and a few smaller Minty things. there was alot of things i really wanted in that, and sold seperately they're insane (well in my book at least) so yeah. once in a life time and i failed.

but i'm ok now. i cried, i watched Labyrinth (yay David Bowie) and now that the adrenaline is worn off I'm ready to crash. dance party with a bunch of ADD teenagers for like 2-3 hours at night...yeah...and i was just the soda bar tender ^^;; i should go nap...it'll probably make me feel better

I'm so sorry, dear. Hope you get to sleep on a *bed* tonight! *That* ought to make things look brighter in the morning.

If I had bothered to look beyond the first picture in that auction, I'd have been sniping too. That's how you win things on ebay now. But, the pearly babies are nowhere near rare enough that you'll never get them, so just keep an eye out.

I agree with Skeen, sniping is the way to go if you want to grab rare ponies for a good price.

I don't see how it's 'cheating' either, since Ebay allows and more importantly, ANYONE can use it, so people have no advantage over others.

I just put in stupidly high bids so nobody else will touch them, LOL.

Yeah bidding on ebay isnt the funnest..
*pats* i hope you feel better soon, im sure another chance will come up :)

HEY!!! LOL! From now on I will immediately suspect *you* on those auctions where, no matter what increment I try, the dreaded "SORRY! you have been outbid" pops up *immediately*. O-o Just kidding of course.

That's a good approach, but it can get you in trouble if you run into someone else like you he he. One of my friends used to do that on ebay (he collects CDs and music type things), until one day he put in a crazy max bid of $1000 or something like that for something he knew wasn't worth more than $50 and well, sure enough someone else had the same plan and he ended up being the highest bidder at $810 he he.

I'm sorry you got outbid, Kat, but I'm sure they'll come along again and you'll get them :)

Jewel, yeah, I'm guilty over here. I bid on the first one but then it went higher than I wanted to spend so I just let it go (I think I was the second highest bidder) and I went back to the other one. I bid and walked away and when I came back, the auction was over and I had won! Yay :D

Sorry you missed out but I'm afraid I snipe too :hide: so I'm sure I've been cursed plenty of times :) It's definately the way to go more often that not . . . and hey if you can't beat them join them ;)

I've done that in the past and nearly died when somebody kept pushing my bid up, up and up and up :uhoh: I don't do that very much anymore . . . lol

Don't feel bad...I would have outbid you on that lot myself if I had seen it. *grin*

Well, considering I'm selling my collection now, you lost your opportunity to do that about three years ago, LOL.

Oh, it happened a few times, but nothing exorbitantly high. I would put only what I was willing to spend, and most of the time I got lucky and ended up spending less. Once or twice a member here did it to me though, but it wasn't very often. I was pretty good about bid-stalking the people who always seemed to cluster-bid on items I wanted, though, and after a few times of their good deals turning into pricing nightmares, the war was over.

Rule of thumb is NEVER put in more than what you are willing to spend, though. Looks like Peppermint Truly's friend forgot that. ;) I would top bids for certain MOCs at 300 and 500; I think I bid an MOC Mimic up to about 600 before I just said, "Ridiculous, forget it." If I'd won her at 600 you'd better believe I'd have done a dance.

Anyways, the Pearlized Babies are very easy to find. I just sold one for 25.00. You may not find them on a "deal of the century", but I wouldn't let that deter you. I don't think I ever got any really good DEALS because I don't buy lots of ponies. I can't clean them and I hate selling.
