NOTE: Not every single pony (every single Autumn Crisp, for example) will have this problem.

Hm, so I was getting out some ponies I had accidentally misplaced. I usually keep them in my bedroom in my pony shelf and these had accidentally been put in storage so I realized and got them out. Ive noticed my meadowbrook has something odd with the tip of her tail.
The ends are crinkled and pale and stuck together. Has anyone had this happen? I dont know if this is disintegration or a mouse chewing the end? The rest of her hair is fine.. I kinda hope it was a mouse.. The pics are after i seperated the hair. It almost looks as if it's been touched with heat but she hasnt been in scalding heat my storage is attached to the house.

Edit: Flower Flash also has an issue, this one random piece of hair is rock hard. Both of them have brand new hair out of the package, literally. Its so weird, maybe it is melt instead of disintegration but why didnt it effect the rest of the hair? If it was either youd think the rest of the hair would be effected.. Unless Flower Flashes issue is something (maybe glue) from the factory I never noticed..

Thanks! Ive never had the issue but the more I look at it, flower flashes looks like glue or something factory done bc her hair is perfect otherwise.I have a few G3s with glued/melted clumps of hair. I'd say it was a fairly common QC issue with G3. I would just wash MB's tail and see if it helps.
As far as I know, we don't yet know if a certain release of her is more prone than others. Thank you for letting us know though, maybe we'll see a trend develop over time and we can figure out if one release is affected more than another or not.Today arrived my Flippity Flop, and I see she's on the list above as potential victim. Do you know which release is more likely to be affected? Mine is the Shimmer Pony release, and her hair is still intact. I hope it will be so in the future.
I think that I've had three Flippity Flop (sold doubles) and none of them had any issues.Today arrived my Flippity Flop, and I see she's on the list above as potential victim. Do you know which release is more likely to be affected? Mine is the Shimmer Pony release, and her hair is still intact. I hope it will be so in the future.
That just happened to me. Yesterday I got some ponies including this Ivy, and as I took it out of the box, the tail just fell out. If the hair remains intact, I'll glue back.I went back to that charity shop today thinking I forgot something there but I didn’t but the two Ivys were still there. I’m aware this thread is about G3s but I’m not sure if this is actually the same thing happening or not? I felt it’s worth a mention though
As I said in my last reply, her hair was breaking up on my lap when brushing and then more came out when washing
Here she is when I got her home and after an attempt at combing it and washing it. The next picture is the other two at the charity shop. Not sure if the same happened to them or they just fell out

They’re McDonalds ponies after all
I have some discoloured G3s, one is changed from blue to green.Might just be the McDonald's toys. I've heard about issues with one of their G3 toys and discoloration.
That's good news!I think that I've had three Flippity Flop (sold doubles) and none of them had any issues.
It seems like the ponies most likely to be victims are:Today arrived my Flippity Flop, and I see she's on the list above as potential victim. Do you know which release is more likely to be affected? Mine is the Shimmer Pony release, and her hair is still intact. I hope it will be so in the future.
I agree with your observation. I think that we could also include some ponies that have more then one hair color (since it would make sense for them to use cheaper hair for these ponies). It seems like the ponies most likely to be victims are:
- from budget lines, like Autumn Crisp
- bonus ponies from playsets
- ponies who came WITH a bonus pony, like Petal Blossom
- Avon exclusives
All instances where Hasbro is making less profit-per-pony, so it would make sense for them to use cheaper hair. Except the Avon ones; I guess Avon is just cheap, or maybe they wanted a bigger cut compared to Toys R Us and Target. (Though some ponies don't fit into any of those categories, like Tangerine Twinkle.)
My guess is the matte Flippity Flop (Shimmer pony) is less likely to be affected than the pearly body one (bonus pony).
i JUST seen this.
awh, double kill. fading pink AND disintegrating red hair thankfully my poinsettia just has faded pink hair...
Since the theme of Tripsy Daisy is to help her feel better, I hope she can feel better about this with some new hair stripes soon
Don't jinx it!awh, double kill. fading pink AND disintegrating red hair thankfully my poinsettia just has faded pink hair...
(at what point do we give up and just designate the entire g3 line as susceptible to this? lol)
