Have you ever renamed a pony because you didn’t like the name? Or couldn’t remember the name so gave the pony a new one? Or simply just nickname a pony?

I’m sure I must have renamed some ponies as a little kid because I must have forgotten them. I know I kept mixing up Scooter Sprite with Scootaloo

Share your renames/nicknames if any! :lolpony:

Yup.

Sweet Pop was Popsicle as a kid, she remained so when I got her back.

Salty is forever Tugboat to me. I didn't understand his name as a kid, and didn't like it.

Sunnybunch was Cassidy, because I didn't know who she was back then. She was a gift from a school friend.

Hula Hula doesn't make any sense. I swear the naming department had had one too many mai tais at cocktail hour and botched up the names of that whole set. She is now Kalea. It's a Hawaiian name that means Bright.

I didn't nickname 4-Speed, I just prefer his UK name Trucker better.

My aunt bought me Blushie at the swap meet, and i didn't know who she was. My daughter suggested I call her Bouquet till I found out. She's one of my favorite G3s, but Hasbro gave her such a stupid name, so she is forever Bouquet.

Peggy Mane is a stupid name. So I just call her Lite-Brite. It's cute, it's simple, its indicative.

Tugboat is a great name and sounds so much better than Salty!
And I must agree with Peggy Mane. I’d probably end up calling her Lite-Brite too if I ever got her. I don’t plan to but if I did

a certain orange euro exclusive unicorn's name hasn't aged well (and wasn't in good taste in the first place), so i refer to her as 'tambourine'.
Ah, @darklys mentioned her on another thread too, that’s how I came up with the idea for this one. I guess she must be a common one to rename

My nan renamed Butterscotch as "Miss America" when I was little. I don't know why, but it colors that pony for me.

I always called "Lovin' Kisses" by the name "Clarissa", lol.

And Tamby, of course.

I always called Brights Brightly "Morning Song". I could just never remember her real name
That's a prettier name then her actual one.

@Draco Get to the choppa!

I need to find a name for Baby Ribbs. What on Earth was Hasbro thinking?

That's fun to think about. What about Knight Light? That was the first thing that came to mind. Anyone else have a suggestion? I always thought he seemed like Princess Pristina's baby, maybe something to do with that (like something with Prince...)?

He definitely seems like Pristina's son. I always thought so too.

Usually I kept there original names but there are a few
I never liked the name Finger Paints as a kid, so I called mine Paint Palette :)
I got the 25th anniversary 3 pack of Blossom, Snuzzle and Minty but as a g3 girl I couldn’t see how that was Minty lol, so mine became Clover and somehow my sister ended up with the uk version so Sweet Stuff will always be Lollipop to me

Swirly Whirly. Didn’t know her name as a kid so I called her ‘Candy’ because she was my only sweet smelling pony. Oh, and Fifi (Perm Shop) I think I called her ‘Bows’. And Banana Surprise was Banana Split.

I know there were several more that my sister and I named because we didn’t know their real names, like Glittering Gem, Tossles, Brightglow, Streaky and I think Star Hopper but I don’t remember what we called them. Star Hopper was a boy and I think it was a human name… my sister named him and every time we played I tried to get her to change his name. :lolpony:
