Minty wasn’t even in the core 7 either. It would be so cool to see Sparkleworks again! Or Sunny Daze. Yes indeed.
 
Honestly I like that set and think they’re adorable. Even though it’s a new generation it’s kinda nice seeing those beloved characters return. Maybe I’m still not completely over G4 ending lol. But it would’ve been nice to see a G1 and a G2 pony in there instead of 3 g4s

A G2 as a G5 pony could look really good. Their bodies feel similar to me and probably closer than G4 looks, buildwise
 
I'm super excited about the new Minty (my beloved) with her cool curly hair, but I'm not a huge fan of the G5 bodies as I prefer non-articulated ponies! Has anyone rebodied her onto something else? Or modified the body successfully, interested in how I could add some G5s to my collection that line up with my style

I’ve only seen @Skybreeze customise a larger one into Applejack for @BethMcBeth in terms of customised brushables but those were not articulated. I’m sure I’ve seen a repainted Locket online somewhere too, again not an articulated one. @gummiisnax ‘s idea of epoxy’ing the legs sounds like a good one.

I too prefer non-articulated in ponies but at least their joints aren’t like the G4 ones

Omg those jointed G4s haunt me haha it's just too much. I know I'm old school but as a kid I never thought 'man I wish these horses had extremely posable legs' - dolls were for posing nicely and ponies were for stomping up and down the carpet

I was thinking epoxy putty may be the way to go

Me too! If I moved my ponies a certain way I could make a really nice “cli-clop” noise

I know the Locket you're talking about. The artist did a great job.
 
On second thought, I'm glad they're not putting new characters in an expensive,exclusive pack, because I'd be twice as ticked. (I still think it sucks that it's a buncha common ponies you can buy for a fraction of that price.)
 
I spotted another G5 magazine today! It’s been a while since I’ve seen one. I thought the alicorn Sunny was pretty good until I saw her face… but there’s detail in those wings!

And then I found myself at another Home Bargains. This time, instead of Pipp there was Izzy. I quite like this Izzy but unfortunately she could not come home with me. Poor Sunny seems to have been thrown around and had her mane messed up before she has even found a home. Nicely made and painted figures though

Her eyes are very close together on that magazine toy haha, the magazine itself looks cute though! I nearly bought a similar one in Tesco to get inspiration for drawing the G5 style in 2D
