Anyone else interested in dollhouses and/or sylvanian families/calico critters?

I finally made my first dollhouse! And I am totally obsessed with how ridiculously cute Calico Critters are! This is nothing special, but I've always wanted a dollhouse, and now I have one :) It's just a bookshelf I got from Michaels with an added shelf and some paint and paper and whatnot, but I'm SO excited and cant wait to start on another, more "real", dollhouse!

The pandas are Calico Critters and they live in the house. The brown bears are some knockoff I got for a couple bucks at a flea market, and they're just visiting. They normally live in a shadowbox above my bed.

If you have a dollhouse or tips on making them, please share (I'm gonna need all the help I can get)! Also, if you love calico critters, feel free to share pics of those too, they're sooo cute :) Haha my enthusiasm (aka obsession) with hobbies is a bit overwhelming, huh? lol!

P.S. I am a "grown" woman, and this is my bedroom. haha! Ponies, dollhouses, and Hello Kitty :)

My son and I are in the process of building a beautiful three story farmhouse. We're needing to run wiring through it so we can have lights, then we need to wallpaper . I love to put my Ponies and action figure in their so they can have tea parties...

We're going to use the house to make a stop motion zombie versus ****s movie. Seems like a wholesome enough endeavour!

Your house looks great, and you obviously had a lot of fun decorating it! I love the little panda family. They're just adorable.

If you decide to build another, Hobby Lobby has some really beautiful kits. The instructions are very straightforward and user friendly. Best of all they have 40% coupons quite often if you sign up for their emails and that knocks a huge hunk off the cost!

When we bought furniture, each family member would arm theirselves with a 40% coupon and we'd just buy one set each so we could get the most bang for our buck, but flea markets are a great place to get furniture too.

Actually calico critters fit very well in vintage Little People sets. I've never had a whole house set up in years. I would if I had the room for it. I've got my Monster High dolls on display now and they are taking up a lot of space.

I used to have an old, but beautifully made dollhouse completely out of wood that I LOVED as a kid. I would play with my my Playmobile toys in it nearly every day. I don't know what happened to it and wish I still had it. I think I also had some bears very similar to the calico critters you are talking about, but they were brown and not panda's.

OMG, that sounds so epic! I wanna see the movie! Did you get Victoria's Farmhouse? I want that one sooo bad! Thanks for the tip about Hobby Lobby, I might be doing that after I finish the kit I got at the flea market :D

Look for discounted kits too! Ours had been opened, but nothing was removed. They knocked $40 off the price, plus let us use the coupon! I don't remember what model house it is, but I'll take a pic after while and post it. My son did most of the building because the movie is his idea, so he's super proud of it and likes to show off his handiwork.
