Visiting my mum for a couple days and I woke up this morning to a text from my partner.
The Christmas tree fell over. (Most likely cat related) The Christmas tree that was full of our combined Family ornaments. Old glass balls from our childhoods.
He figures over 50% are shattered.
I could puke from the thought of it.
Then my wonderful mother disappears and reappears with a bin full of them. She didn't use them this year and doesn't plan to in the future.
It doesn't help with the loss of his side of ornaments, but it helps for me.
I am sad by the loss for both of us, but he and the cats were not hurt. We will have the tree decorated for Christmas with the kiddoes.
And most of all....he has agreed that we really should anchor the tree to the walls somehow.
