Hi,

I've been off the site for a while working on personal and work issues, but I recently got back into restoring my collection. I have a G2 Basket Surprise Sweet Berry that I bought off eBay. The seller did not disclose that she was missing an eye gem, but I figured that was an easy fix so I didn't make a fuss. The MLP Preservation Project and Lavender Lagoon have color guides, but for Basket Surprise version of Sweet Berry, her eye color is listed as white (?). My Little Wiki lists the eye color as blue, but I think that's only for the Magic Motion version.

Looking at her remaining eye (see pic below), it looks more whitish than blue. I ordered a set of Swarovski 1088 XIRIUS Chaton Crystals (size PP18) in the crystal/clear color. Now that I have the crystals in hand, it's clear they're not a match. Her eye looks to have a little bit of green/blue in it (the photo makes it appear more vivid than it actually is). There are so many colors out there that I can't afford to keep guessing and buy the wrong crystals. Has anyone restored this particular pony and know what crystal color is a good match for her? I wish there was a store I could take her and "try on" different eye crystals. Thanks in advance,

Sahar

I would say pop her in your purse and go to a craft store. Most craft stores have the crystals with the beading supplies OR with the fabric paints. Better yet try calling your local craft supply stores. Even try sewing/seamstress shops as the crystals are often used in costuming.

As for matching I know they have an almost white teal colour that may be a match. I’m unsure what it’s number is. :(

@Skybreeze I may end up doing just that. I checked Michael's website and they don't seem to have a ton of options, but I may have to check around at a few other stores. Now I need to figure out how to discreetly take a pony out of my purse and not get wierd stares from the other customers

If your able to go into Michael’s they have a large selection of Swarovski crystals. They keep them with the beading stuff typically towards the front of the stores and bonus they’re on sale right now. ;) Michael’s website is the worst to shop from.

Thanks Skybreeze! I’ll post an update once I shop around so that (assuming I’m successful) if anyone else has a similar issue they can find the right color

I ordered a big bulk bag of mixed colour gems off ebay in the hope of finding something that suits the two ponies I want to repair. That might be another option.

Don't worry about the stares lol. I took two bodyless heads in to find matches for puffy paint for repairs lol. At least a whole pony will look better

Good luck on your search! I've always been interested by the fact that despite the cataloguing dedication of many collectors, there will always be some details about a product left to figure out, like Sweet Berry's crystal match here.
