Welcome back, wingless Twiley!

I have no idea how to feel about that Dashie. She mainly stands out to me compared to the three. She also has a completely different vibe about her compared to her previous figures the most out of the threr
I like the fact they made an effort to try to have them have their hairstyles though
Also, Twiley has such a thick tail, wow! That must be how it’s just ended up spreading across the box or they tried to flatten it like her cartoon tail

They just feel… strange. And I just can’t quite make out why

It’s the uncanny valley, they almost look like their regular selves but not quite.

Yeah, that and maybe with Dashie the fact that the wings don’t really stand out with these moulds, she looks thin and wingless

I really don’t like the folded wings moulds. Even G1’s wings stand out more than these. I hope some regular brushables get some unfolded wings because not only do these guys barely look like Pegasi, but I’m imagining kid me being so annoyed to the point of me using my hands as their flapping wings when making them fly.

I don’t really like the mould either but I’m sure it’s just so they have one mould for the species as they seem to have stylised wings for each character

G1 made sure their wings were defined enough to know they’re there, those just look flat

Oh so now Hasbro cares about body type consistency? If that’s the reason I get it in theory but…eh, I would’ve done what they did for the posables, where they have two wing types, Zipp and Pipp, and just reuse them over and over. Don’t even need to color them, I mean, they’re not coloring them folded anyway, and you can definitely still see the colorful wings when they’re folded in the animation. Or they could go above and beyond and actually color each and every one uniquely like they did in that upcoming Pegasus set. Call me unrealistic but I’m sure that is completely within their capability. The main brushables shouldn’t be looking so cheap, that’s what budget brushables are for!

I think the G4 ponies are funny lol! I'm not surprised that they would make G4-G5 ponies, especially at the beginning, since this generation is definitely intended to be a continuation/sequel to G4 rather than a reboot of the franchise.

I really hate the small brushables for this generation and I desperately hope they at least rework the head sculpt and pegasus pose; the head sculpt is not only...kind of ugly, but it looks nothing like the 3D animation and even less like the 2D designs we've seen so far. I personally think the designs could very feasibly translate nicely into toys (looking at Singing Pipp once again) and these just don't do that.

Really hate the wings. G1 wings were also flatter against the body, but their sculpting was more prominent and they were clearly sculpted to be 'open', while these ones are folded and basically nonexistent.

But unless Hasbro plans to put in the money to give us full nylon hair for all brushables, I'm not likely to purchase these either way. I was shocked when G4 started incorporating lower quality hair into the line, but for G5 to have it from the start is even worse.

I also think it's funny that Twilight is missing her wings here, I wonder if that will be significant to the plot of the movie (maybe Alicorns no longer exist in Equestria, or records of their existence have been erased by the government to promote the separation of pony species?), probably just meant as a throwback to unicorn Twilight though lol.

Don’t know if it’s plot related or not, I mean, the leaked G5 animatic showed her as an alicorn and a plot synopsis from an activity book called her a princess, but Sunny’s figurine of her appears to be a unicorn. Also, the drawing on the box is definitely alicorn Twilight.

Honestly, I think it’s because they’re planning on making an alicorn Twilight G5 toy later on because they wanna get all the rerelease money they possibly can.

out August 24th leaked, and these are the images running around the internet that I found the most note-worthy.
I gotta say, that silly Jaws parody made me laugh more than it should have.

JAWS and Harry Trotter, huh?

Seeing how JAWS gave sharks a bad rep and made people more scared of them as they used to be, I’m going to assume this was something that may make the earth ponies who dislike unicorns stereotypes them? Seeing as the species are all supposed to be segregated?
