G5 G5 Chatter

Warning everyone: Someone got their hands on scans of the storybook, which spoils the plot of the whole film, and posted it online. People are already talking about it and posting the pages around, so if you care about spoilers I’d be careful in G5-related spaces!
On the other hand, if you don’t care about spoilers, that book is available to read if you can find the scans.

We won’t be posting any such things here so no worries on that front. ;)

I loved the trailer!! I'm looking forward to it and I loved all the different background ponies. I hope they make toys of all of them!

Guys. I am so unbelievably sad right now. After MANY weeks of waiting and anticipation my singing Pipp finally arrived today (I had pre-ordered her from Amazon).

To say this package has literally been an emotional roller coaster today would be a great understatement.

I was so scared when the delivery guy handed me a bubbled envelope with what I knew was Pipp inside. I hurried inside (nearly killed myself by tripping over both dogs) and cut open my bubbled Pipp to break her free of her less than thoughtful packaging by Amazon’s wonderful line pickers. I reached in the bag to pull out a Hasbro packaging box. Praise the pony gods Amazon actually did me a solid for once! I thought to myself as I sighed with relief.

So, knowing my girl was safe inside I set her aside so I could finish doing some order packaging and cleaned up the craft room, made dinner and before I knew it the day got away from me. So, here I am at nearly midnight I carry my packages (I also got a delivery from @MustBeJewel today because she’s awesome sauce) up to my bedroom. I open my packaging box to see that instruction manual on the bottom of the box. I thought it was weird but figure with less plastic Hasbro is choosing to affix to the bottom of the box, weird but okay. I pull Pipp out and heart break. My girl isn’t in her beautiful box but just the ugly cardboard!!! I am very much an inbox collector as best I can for “current” MLP series. I am SO sad. I could’ve grabbed her the other day at Walmart because my store finally got her in and out on the shelves (only five). But nooooo, I didn’t because I knew I still had her coming from Amazon. So now, I have to go back to Walmart and see if I can still nab her.

I’m sharing this as a kind of warning should anyone else think they may want to order from Amazon because she’s less expensive or it’s more convenient. If your an out of box collector, do it! If not I would suggest buy with caution as you may end up with a Pipp like mine. I do love how soft and plush her wings are though and she is so stunningly pretty. *sigh*

Return her! That is absolutely awful! :xmashug:
Also, if you have any more trouble getting her, let me know and I'll send you one.

That’s… that’s insane how she survived the journey like that. Where did the box go?! Did they just not bother making her any sort of packaging whatsoever? At least try to make it look nice if this is the Amazon variant of the packaging… environmentally friendly? Maybe. Collector friendly? Probably not

I'm sorry your so disappointed Skybreeze. I'm also kind of amazed that she survived her trip in that rinky dink... thing.

So, updates on the Amazon Pipp. In my complete heartbreak I emailed both Amazon and Hasbro last night expressing both my disappointment in receiving this kind of a pre-order product.

Surprisingly enough I got a phone call this afternoon from Amazon's merchandising manager (I assume for the local warehouses). Apparently, Hasbro has provided them (Amazon Canada) with several variants of this toy. One the normal store version and the second being an "eco friendly option." I did indeed order the store version and apparently received the eco-friendly by mistake. However, the person I spoke had mentioned that a lot of people who pre-ordered with the Hasbro Amazon Store apparently got the same pony by mistake and they have updated the listing(s) to reflect the correct packaging. Apparently they have packaging options for normal, eco-friendly, French and Spanish options.

So, if you are looking to order from Amazon (Canada for sure) be sure to read the descriptions as well and read over the "title" of the toy.

Luckily, I was able to pickup the "normal" Pipp from the third Walmart I hit up today in my search for her and other G5's I'm still looking for. Now, I'm curious if I will hear anything from Hasbro, not very likely.

@Tak - I might keep her and have her loose, I need to touch and brush her hair I think. But I don't know, I might also keep her as a prize for something here. ;)

@StormMaeker & @Uftaki - I was shocked that she actually survived the thin bubble envelope she arrived in. I think she only did because I actually don't live too terribly far from all the Amazon warehouses in the Toronto area (I'm very central).

Went looking for Trailblazer, no dice.

I haven’t seen him yet either. If I do I’m happy to pickup extras for you. <3

I will say, I do LOVE these fully movable heads on the G5’s!
Me too! I actually really like the brushables much more than I thought I would. They’re all a lot smaller than I have initially thought but I’m pretty impressed on the quality. I guess with saving on the packaging Hasbro can put that money towards a better product. *I don’t know just making guesses here*

I got some comparison shots for you guys after picking up a unicorn celebration set from Walmart. They have the 3” ponies.

I also have the fashion sized Izzy.

in case you were wondering, the 3” Izzy also has swirl designs on her horn.

Thank you for the size comparisons! Comparisons always give me a better understanding of pony sizes with different gens  The more gen comparisons, the better for me

Has anyone picked up the Shining Adventures set with all the 6-inch figures? I'm really curious about whether the wings are poseable and if the hair is the same quality as the individual ones.

Darn it! Now all that's there is a bunch of stuffed toys.
