how to permanently stain a basic fun pony?

I have a 35th Anniversary Confetti. She has been played with, and some of her glittery cutie-mark has come off. I guess I could reglitter it again, but glitter always seems destined to fall off sometime in the future through some sort of activity, even if it's really steadfast. So when more of her cutie-mark falls off, i'm thinking on painting it on again. (Basic fun ponies are made out of hard plastic. I'm not sure if they absorb ink as well as usual G1 ponies do, but I still think there could be one way out there that could stick).

What do you think would be a steadfast way I could paint/stain on her cutiemark?

If you're playing enough to rub the symbol off I'm not sure I can think of anything that will maintain looking original and hold up with heavy play, you will likely have to keep touching up. I don't have any 35th anniversary ones so not sure about ink bleeding but I'd be worried it would spread and not stay a true line. I'd probably just brush on glue and reglitter and just continue to do that as needed. We got lotsa crafters here though so maybe they know of a better product or option?

I would re-glitter and seal it on with something like Mr Super Clear.

Because Confetti is a white pony it is likely the colours required in her symbol will bleed into the vinyl and make it look messy. Optionally, you could completely wipe off with 100% acetone and apply a layer of Mr Super Clear and then use watercolour pencils (sharpened very sharp) and with many layers and seal again with the MSC.

Lastly, you could just buy a new Confetti to keep for display and keep this one for play.

I've had good luck with the Rit Synthetic dye on ALL ponies...white bases tend to be pretty true-to-color with whatever you choose. Plus, if in doubt or if going for a pale color, just dilute the dye a TON and take her out when she's the color you like

I tape off the sections I want to stay blank or use white craft glue to outline my design. Just wait til the glue is completely dry before dying

I think she’s asking about the symbols, not dying of a pony. Also, being that Confetti is a white pony I don’t think there’s a white dye. You can’t whiten a pony with dye - you can basically only darken with dyes. ;)

True...I've used vinyl spray paint to go back to white...but I HAVE used Rit to spruce up certain cutie marks too. Just have to tape off or carefully glue around the spots you don't want colored. But I agree with your above statement too
