So long story short, I made a crazy purchase recently! It appears to be the mold for a paint your own pony statue of Medley! She stands about 6” high & 4” wide.

The seller couldn’t really give me any details as they are just selling off there father’s old molds & weren’t sure where he had acquired any of them.

Not sure how to authentic a mold, but here we are. I can make out some of her music notes so that’s pretty cool. Does anyone know if this Medley painting kit was exclusive to Brazil?

My little wiki has a picture of Pinta Tinta on there site.

That is amazing!!! :twohearts: Im interested to know as well! Ive seen the painting kit but never a mold!

It likely is authentic and a great find!

I have this Medley and Skyflier and Cotton Candy but I’d have to double check where the manufacturer stamp is but I’m pretty sure (not certain) that these were also sold in North America and likely from factories in Brazil and China. But I would have to dig out my girls to confirm unless someone else has more info than myself.

that's so cool!! Maybe @MustBeJewel has an idea?
This looks VERY authentic! It has a very similar patina to my G1 pony head mold, and especially given the story of how you found it, I would lean heavily toward authentic, only because I can't personally prove it one way or another. I'd have bought it in a heartbeat! ;)

Is this a paint-a-figure inside of it still?? If you have it yet, that is.

Something I theorize is that the Paint-A-Figures sold outside of Brazil may be the ones with the MLP logo embossed on the front of the base, and from the looks of this Brazil Medley in the Wiki, there doesn't appear to be one: http://mylittlewiki.org/w/images/8/83/Pintatinta1.jpg

^ On my Medley, you can see that the MLP logo is embossed into the front of the base (same with Peachy)

Really mostly speculation on my part, I really love these figures and collect them, but overall in the community there seems to be relatively little known about them.

Wow! Congratulations on such a crazy amazing find! So cool!

Thank you all for your nice comments!

The mold just came today! I’ve been freaking out for about a week waiting for it to arrive.

There is something inside, but it also seems to be very oxidized on the bottom. I don’t know anything about molds so I’m just going to leave it as is for now. I’ve never purchased any of the figures before so I didn’t have anything to compare it to.

@MustBeJewel your painted figures are lovely! I’m not seeing any my little pony logo on the mold base, at least on the outside. The inside is partially filled so I can’t say for sure.

I would be VERY tempted to try to remove whatever was inside, but due to the shape of the figure and the fact that the plastic has long solidified (and would need to be "fresh" for lack of better terms, and still soft/pliable to remove), it's not something I'd recommend. Still tempting though! ;)

Wow! What an incredible find!
