What is a "post auction"?

A post auction is where a seller creates a thread with their auction terms and items for sale, and other members of the community comment on the thread in order to place their bids. Once the allotted time has passed (usually 5-7 days), a winner is declared for each item. Payment and shipping are handled privately between buyer and seller.

What rules apply here?

1) All MLPTP Site Rules apply.

2) Sellers must provide detailed photos of the items up for auction.

3) Sellers must adhere to the Auction Format detailed below.

4) Bidders may NOT under any circumstances attempt to purchase the item from the seller outside of the auction format. IE: Bidders may not contact the seller with an offer to end the auction and sell to the buyer directly. All purchases in the Auction House must be completed in proper auction format in fairness to all involved.

5) Bidders may ask questions about the items in their comments. However, if an item is being sold "as is," the seller may choose not to answer. Items listed "as is" are usually listed with an eagerness to sell and limited available time on the seller's part.

6) Sellers must specify whether or not an auction item has a reserve price. A "reserve" means that the item will not sell unless that price is met. If the reserve price is $20 and the bids only reach $15, the item will not sell. Sellers are encouraged to avoid this by starting their auctions at their reserve price.

7) We require the use of Paypal Goods & Services as well as for the seller to always provide a tracking number.

8) All MLP items are allowed, as well as other vintage toys from 1980 - 2000.

9) A bid is to be a guarantee that the buyer will pay for the item. A successful auction and payment is to be considered a guarantee that the seller will ship the item.

10) You may not edit your bids.

11) Sellers must contact winners within 3 business days.
Payments must be received within 5 business days, or the item may be sold to the next highest bidder or re-listed.
Items must be shipped within 7 business days.

12) Please remember to leave feedback for your buyers and sellers.

How Do I Bid?

Bidders, simply comment on the auction thread with the name of the item and your bid amount. Your bid amount must be higher than the previous bid for that item. You can place your bid for multiple items in the same comment. Please be aware of the bid increment in the auction listing. You may bid as many times as you like. You may NOT edit your bid.

What Happens if I Win?

The seller will contact you via Private Message with your total and how to pay them.

Pro Bidding Tips:

1) Make sure you click the "Watch" button at the top right of any auction thread you wish to follow. You will be notified via email (according to your account settings) when another person places a bid (posts a comment). Make sure your email address is current and up to date!

2) You can also click the "Watch" button at the top right of this page to get notifications of any new auctions being listed!

3) Set an alarm on your smart phone or other device to remind you to bid before an auction ends.

4) Know what time zone you're in versus what time zone the seller is: https://dateful.com/time-zone-converter

Pro Selling Tips:

1) Taking detailed photos helps your buyers know exactly what they're bidding on, and will help your item to sell.

2) Share a link to your listing on social media to draw in more buyers!
