MLPTP EVENT ~*~ MLPTP Halloween Swap 2021 ~*~ EVERYONE SHIPPED??

@Sassarazzmadazzles I got mine off Amazon. A third-party seller. In the past I just used black with stickers. Surprisingly I found the nice black paper in the wedding section.

Thanks guys! I found some and it should be here by tomorrow!

The pony part should be coming in today! ive already got the extra goodies! once it gets in, all i gotta do is make it pretty, pack it up, and ship it out!

Oh my goodness, I think this swap is cursed for me! One of my extras arrived today… except the seller sent me someone else’s package! Hopefully the right one arrives before the deadline. And I was so excited to start wrapping today…

I know the feeling. I also got a not-quite-right pony package today, but I think my partner will like my backup plans (I hope)!

Hey :) I’m not actually doing the swap but I have a question since several ponys seem to be showing up not in the condition you guys were expecting and when I did the swap last year I had that happen too. So is it best to fix them up the best you can and hope your swap partner still likes them? Or is it better to just get a different pony for the swap and then try to work out the problem with the seller later? I was just curious what you guys think about it

I've had this happen more and more often. I base what I do on my swap partner. If they are picky and I can't get the pony to their standards, then I'll probably order more. If they do not seem as picky, I might clean the pony up as best I can, and possibly include an extra pony if I can. I think it really depends on your partner’s acceptable and unacceptable flaws, plus how well you can clean the pony yourself. Also, if while cleaning the pony, you use any chemicals stronger than dish soap, or do any true restoration, (i.e. touch up paint, rehair, bleaching, sun fading, and repair of any chewing or holes), then you should be sure to let them know what was done.

In general, if it’s something within my ability to fix and my partner is not looking for minty ponies, then I will clean up the pony.

I always have mixed feelings about what to do. I also think I'm more critical of ponies for gifts than ponies for myself. I guess it depends on the specific situation, but my general rule is if I don't feel joyful opening that pony and I can't reasonably fix it by general cleaning/styling I'm probably going to try to find something else. If it's something specific from a wishlist, if I know my partner does customs or if I'm sure they're ok with the specific flaw I might send it anyway with a note if it wasn't a crazy expensive pony, but in that case I'd still want to add in another pony too.

Well said.

We always ask when this happens and your in doubt to message a mod. We will intervene and ask your partner if the flaw is acceptable or not. Then we will advise and assist you from there. :)

Better to ask than take a chance and disappoint your partner and save possible hurt feelings. You could also receive poor or neutral feedback with your swap.

So, when doubt talk it out.
