Hi,

I desperately want my 15 year old cat, Shadow, to recover. If he is put to sleep, then noone can be in the room with him because of Corona Virus Pandemic. He was there for me at times, noone else was. Literally noone else. I love him very deeply.

I may come off as a bit harsh to my fellow humans (which I'm sorry for) but I'm extremely understanding to pets. In fact, in case you haven't noticed, I often side with cats over their human owners.

Oh this Pandemic is making life extraordinary harder than usual. The very beginning of February the life I worked extremely hard to create for myself was good. Now in July, my state is stalled in Phase 2 of the Quarantine with no end in sight but possibly/probably Unemployment Benefits ending which would be disastrous!!! My cat Shadow is a huge comfort to me and yes I've cried for him. Obviously I don't want Shadow suffering, I want a Shadow to be healthy.

Please pray for Shadow. Despite the way any of you may think of me (I hope I didn't acquire/earn a nasty/bad reputation - if I did I'm truly sorry and I have love for MLP Trading Post/Members), Shadow was very sweet, loving and good looking. Shadow could use prayers for a Healthy Recovery.

Again, I apologize if I offended anyone previously. Shadow deserves the best, he is a great cat and very well loved by everyone who meets him. This negative turn in his health just started today so I'm shocked and decided to share this situation with all of you. I know there are other members here who maintain close bonds with their pets.

I'm not asking for money, I'm not working - still stuck in Phase 2 of the Quarantine. My sister in law works at a vets office and has been with the cat all day then just took blood for testing. Shadow was given an Xray.
The nodules looks like cancer but noone definitively knows just yet though it could be noncancerious. Since Shadow is 15 years old, surgery would be risky and he may not even survive.
Shadow couldn't eat today nor could Shadow use the litterbox.

Please pray for Shadow.

Despite how I may come across to others, possibly arrogant, please pray for Shadow.

Thanks for reading this.

My thoughts are with you and Shadow. It sounds like you love him very much and your doing all you can in these difficult times of quarantine.

Know he’s in good hands and your Veternairy team is working to help him out. I am truly hoping for a happy outcome for you both. :xmashug:

I can relate, having four lovely cats myself. Thankfully they are all in very good health. But the oldest two - they are sisters - turn 16 this year, so I'm prepared for any health problems their old age might cause in the years to come.

My thoughts are with you and Shadow. :xmashug:

Thank you very much Your Kind words means more than I can express.

Shadow has a brother, Ralphie. When Ralphie was sick with Kicer Problems, Shadow seemed to know and was very affectionate to Ralphie. If one cat passes before the other, how would his sibling react? Like from your experience l, what are typical reactions?

I haven't had siblings who passed away, but as our sisters aren't paticularly close (they do clean each other's heads though) I can't imagine one missing the other very much. But when two cats were very close, I've heard from others that the one left behind searches for their lost sibling/friend for quite some time, not knowing that they are permanently gone.

They weren’t siblings but I had two cats we got only a few months apart and both little tiny babies, they were incredibly close. When my Brownie passed away Matilda would look for him a lot. She kept bringing toys into the living room and a spot he had liked in the basement and making the saddest cry, we think she was trying to get him to come play with the toys... she did that periodically for about a year. Luckily she had us and our dog (she absolutely loved him) to keep her company still

We had siblings. Half Persian boys that were fierce hunters. Sammy and mittens. Sammy was always bringing in large animals and would come home with mystery wounds. Mittens was mine and much more attached to me, so didn't go far. They were both neutered. One day Sammy didn't come home. He'd stayed out for a full day and overnight before, but this time, he never came back. They were 12 at the time, still active, but slowing some. We lived out in the middle of nowhere, so animal control, other people, and cars weren't likely. Mittens stayed within the yard afterwards and always came in at night. He was 15 when he passed I believe.

Shadows having trouble breathing, he lives with mh mother since my apartment doesn't allow pets, and my mom might need to put Shadow to sleep.

Sorry for any negativity, I just need to express what I'm going through... If necessary I can delete the following...

Devistated, I called my brother, whose wife works at the vetinarians office. My brother seems to lack empathy for what I'm going through, but given my brothers history I should have expected that.

My brother and his wife will say if they want the person (relative in the hospital) to live or die. Yes, sometimes expressing disappointment that the victim is still alive. Then Just a bunch of Gas Lighting! Guh!!!

I can't expect any real sympathy from them, possibly just superficial pretending infront of others.

I feel stupid for turning to them!

Sorry for any negativity I just needed to explain what I'm going through...
If necessary, I could delete the above.

I'm grateful for the members of the board!

A lot of animal lovers here so we understand the pain you're going through. We love our pets like family and sometimes that even means helping them not suffer when the time comes. Hopefully your kitty will get better but however it goes we're thinking of you, I know how hard it is :(

I'm so sorry for what you are going through. Having an Ill animal family member is hard enough when there isn't a pandemic. It really stinks that your brother is not understanding or being sensitive to your worries and grief. You and Shadow are definitely in my thoughts. I wish I could magically make things better in a snap. Without a doubt, everyone on the trading post is here for you and are here if you ever need to talk or have comfort or just need to rant. Best of wishes, hang in there.<3

Oh, I'm so sad to read this. I know we don't know each other, but I super hope things are okay.

I had to take my little cat, Ziggy, to the vets just after we entered lockdown and it was awfully stressful experience and I understand how horrible this situation is.

I really hope that things are okay by now.
