I think this belongs in art as it is an artform - apologies mods if I'm wrong.
I'm curious to see and discuss everyone's pony cosplays, especially how people approach turning colourful horses into human fashions!
I haven't seen pony-themed costuming discussed in my short time here and it's something I've been wanting to get back into. I actually had one of my best ever cosplay experiences as a teen at UK Ponycon with my first (and currently only) pony cosplay! It was 2013-ish I think, definitely around a decade ago, and I was in my mid teens. I had spent hours designing and sewing a gothic lolita style Princess Luna costume (no photos survived sadly). I was SO proud of it! I'd never entered a cosplay contest before but I was extremely nervous, I remember describing how I made it to the judges who were all very kind ladies and thinking 'oh they have so much more experience this probably looks terrible to them'. When they announced I placed first I cried a little, it meant so much to me to have my hard work validated by people I looked up to, and to be a winner at something that was such a big part of my identity.
I still have my ribbon rosette prize, which I think is going to become an oversized decoration on my Dream Castle when my pony shelves get a makeover, and I actually work professionally as a Disney Princess now as well as cosplaying other characters in my spare time.
I feel as though it's time for a second, long overdue pony cosplay! I'm absolutely obsessed with @Roccoco 's G2 Ivy design (there's a thread with a load of G2 fashion designs by them)
I'd love to see everyone's pony cosplays of all generations
P.S. if any of the lovely ladies who judged that cosplay contest are here, thank you so much for making a struggling teen girl feel like her hobbies and talents were recognised and respected for the first time ever and playing a part in giving me the confidence to follow them professionally. Your probably don't remember me but I definitely still remember you!
