MLPTP EVENT Pumpkins Scream in the Dead of Night! (Step #4 Discussion)

now my g1s i can get to. they're in my room on my dresser, shelves and a tub in front of my bed.

Sneaky points! :ghost2:

So I lug my jack-o-lantern to work with me, along with my camera and ponies. I was late for work because my Blazer kept trying to die on me until it warmed up... when I was almost there. And my jack looked really awesome... 'til it rolled over on the way to work and pieces busted out of it. Meh... But it's still carved!

Awww, shucks! I like your carved pumpkin. Hope your truck feels better soon!

omg I have the most awesome picture to post tonight! ...tower...of pumpkins! jack o lanturn (their display, but it was a little droopy from time and rain), haystacks (yes plural), scarecrow/s, gords, and ponies- oh my!
the sweet old lady (and her son who wasn't there) run a road side pumpkin patch (during the year it has other things like watermelon, apples, etc) and she was so nice. We're going back tonight to buy some pumpkins!!! (I just ran by on the way to work to grab a pic)
and it's so much better than the one I took last night at the corn maze, pumpkin patch that had haystacks and some pumpkins...I'll post that in bloopers :)

good luck to everyone else!!

Ugh... It's raining. I'm not sure I'm going to get this step done now. Boo to weather. I'm still going to try though!

EDIT: Cannot believe my luck! On the way to the pumpkin patch I was planning on going to, I found another one with HAY BALES! I was so excited, the people selling the pumpkins must have thought I was nuts :p

Is that one of those fake pumpkins in the backround? Thats actually a good idea for sneaky points!! I wouldn't of thought about using one of those. :pumpkin2:

Ummm... I don't know if it's fake or not, it was there when I got there. I didn't pick it up or anything but they was a candle inside that makes me think it was real. I wouldn't have thought about using one of those either, mostly because I have no idea where you can buy a fake pumpkin. :pumpkin2:

Hmm. I guess its just hard to tell from that pic! It looks exactly like the plastic ones you can pic up at Target. Thats awesome they already had a carved one there though! :pumpk1:

The only carved one at the place I went to, was just carved out to be used as a lamp....and I guess that won't work as being carved ^^"

Oh well, almost didn't do this one because of having to make sure my cat gets better...stupid Terriers...

Well believe it or not, this ended up being one of the more challenging shots.

Although finding the pumpkin patch was easy, the employee's thought I was nuts and were following me around the whole time laughing which made it hard for me to focus on taking the pics!! But luckily it didn't take too many shots to get a good one :)

This was a really awesome pumpkin patch, they had all sorts of pumpkins I had never seen before and they had it all decorated with halloween stuff. Very cute.

you can resize it to any size you want without choosing the tiny, small or medium.
you click on more options. uncheck keep proportions then give it a new size, 500x375. you can save as copy or replace orignal.

can't do this either :devil2::a_litterbox::devil2:

i had found a store the other day with pumpkins, they even had a carved one!
but today when i went back (in a rainstorm :smilie_vampire::rain:) they had sold every pumpkin!!! can you belive it??? they had one weird looking tiny one, but it wasn't worth putting the ponies up in a full store wet and angry :bonk::weird::icon_razz1::eevil:00)

This was a challenging and "gutsy" challenge. I found some hay bails at the grocery store but after I carved my pumpkin I felt like I was gonna get in trouble returning and then later taking back my carved pumpkin. I didn't want the store to question why I was leaving with a pumpkin when I hadn't gone back into the store. At least I came back with the receipt just in case. ^_^ Pumpkin Tart had the perfect symbol for a pumpkin! I was thinking about combining Abra's symbol into it too but I was running out of space on my pumpkin. Great job everyone! I like seeing so many pumpkins!

What a shame canibalcow!

We were really lucky, we found a farm shop with pumpkins in the rain and managed to get some pics.

Do you think my carved pumpkin will keep until Halloween, or will it go squashy?

Shlugh xx

In my experience, they go a little 'squashy' hehe, but the bigger problem is bugs... last year mine was covered in ants by the second or third day after I carved it. It was really gross :(

LMAO! this was quite fun!
we had carved pumpkins last weekend and the poor cat one my mum made was already getting moldy. The cat part of it fell in during the ride to the pumpkin patch. We weren't even at a real patch, the local high school was selling pumpkins as a fundraiser. They had an open field with pumpkins just sitting there in rows. We grabbed the ones we wanted and posed them for this picture. They also had a sticker booth to decorate a pumpkin for free so my daughter's pumpkin, Pedro, made it into the picture as well. Great fun!

If you squirt it with lemon juice (the cut parts) it's supposed to help it not get mushy so fast. Can't verify this as my family procrastinates till the last minute, lol.

This step was FUN!!
My uncle went with me in front of safeways pumpkin bins. There we picked out a lopsided pumpkin and gutted it right there on the spot!
I brought A custom pony, Mimic, Nightlight, PumpkinTart, Abrakadabra, Projectblack, Baby Firefly, Baby Crumpet. Portobella Superpony and Gypsy.. I wanted extra pics even though I could only use two G3 :p
Yeah.. we got some wierd looks there with the pumpkin guts and ponies all over the table.. but it was fun ^_^

Skyflyer.. your pumpkin is amazing!!

I'm sooo upset at myself right now. I had the whole pumpkin scene set up ready to go, spent 2 hours carving the silly pumpkin. What happens, stupid me drops her digital camera, and it doesn't work anymore. I took a photo on my phone, but I can't remember where I put the cords for it when I moved to upload it onto the computer. Dang, I'm hoping I can borrow a camera for the next step or I'm out. Hubby won't buy me a new camera, 'cause I'm getting a mad one for chrissy and he says I have to wait.

Thanks Corpsey! ^_^ I loved your pumpkin too! Everyone laughed who I showed it too. :) The guts hanging out of the mouth is great. :)

I found out that the best tool for pumpkin carving was a Dremel tool! It worked amazingly! The only thing about it was that it splattered pumpkin mush everywhere but after a quick rinse under the faucet we had nice clean edges. :)
