MLPTP EVENT Roll Back the Tombstone, Let the Saints Appear (Step #5 Discussion)

we couldn't get into my favorite cemetery b/c it's locked (lots of vandalism), but this really really old one has no gates or anything, it just exists between some other properties. so we wondered around in the cold dark night, no tripod so I';m setting my camera on other tombstones to take the pictures. :) all the tombstones and such were very worn and many broken. there's also some unknown graves there.

Well I went out of town and missed two steps, nuts! I had a great time participating and will keep a lookout for the next step.

I'll pass on this one though.

Corpsey I'm so glad you were able to find Nightlight! I think I would have had a heart attack if I knew she was missing.

Roogna- Wow those are some really old tombstones! They're so little! Very interesting.:2232:

Skig- I hope you're able to get your pic! The Tripod we used worked great!

So, guys, it's seriously, like, 35 degrees (Fahrenheit) outside. It's snowing. I have to be at work at 10pm. And I dragged my husband out to the nearest cemetery with my camera, tripod, and a pony to take a pic for this hunt. I must be crazy.

I picked the nearest cemetery where I thought we wouldn't get caught. We drove in and picked the nearest stone. I feel bad that it was a vet's, but that's all that we were surrounded by in that part of the place. Just as I set the tripod down, a gust of wind threatened to blow it over. Thankfully, no more gusts came. We got the job done and beat it the **** out of there!

Skig, I feel so sorry for you! I watched some races from Philly today and it looked miserable down there. That stuff is moving up this way next, so I dragged hubby out. The little town cemetary is open and easy to access, but it's right across from a residential neighborhood. We pulled into the short entrance and I said to him "make like we're lost and looking for directions". Then I noticed the house directly across the road from us had the big picture window wide open with the TV on. Time to put a move on it before they noticed us. We left and were back in the house in under 10 minutes. :)

Okay done!!

Luckily we found a graveyard that I didn't know about that is no longer used, or at least its totally open at night

It was creepy b/c I forgot to bring a flashlight! lol

Not to mention I couldn't find a third person to go and take the pic so we had to hold the camera while fitting all of us into the shot.

I'd like to thank whoever Margaret is for letting us use her headstone for the pic! I sort of felt bad about taking the pic but who can say no to MLP!

my brother wasn't too happy about being dragged out for a pony pic. haha. It started to rain/hail while we were posing lol

WW, you don't have to go in the dark. It's just extra points if you do. No one wants anyone to get arrested :)

Its mostly due to teenagers with their graffiti and such. Darn whippersnappers!
For whatever reason, hanging out in a graveyard is 'cool'.
...although I have to say here in Jersey, Barnes and Noble bookstores are the prefered loitering spots for teens.

darn kids :stirthepot:
luckily there's not much vandalism here, i guess there will be some on halloween, but there's usually no big deal. i loce going to the graveyard, it's so peaceful and quiet :)
now at winter time you see all the candles that are lit. it's beautiful. you can see some lights in the back of my photo^^

I can't think of any graveyard around me, that has candles! In my experience, the most you see is American flags in the ground. ....... yeeeeah.

Thats really cool :D
We plant flowers as well, but for whatever reason flags are really big around my parts.

I went and asked today and I cant even take pics >.< I guess its a big no no here. Also there are fences around our 2 cemetaries and they lock them at 6pm so its a no go. Its all cool, I did this for fun and if I dont get a prize its cool ^_^ just getting to participate was fun ^_^ I'll just have to buy that darn Art pony lol
