Sailor Moon Themed Customs Swap! ~ Round 1 ~ Closed

Mine is also complete as well.

Jenni823 & DPP, you guys need to give the people shipping to you your mailing addresses soon. I know both of you stated you were going to be moving and your partners need to know where to send out your end of the swap. Please let them know as soon as they have posted they have finished them so that they can know exactly where the customs need to be mailed to. Thanks!

I'm excited as well to see how everyone's turns out.

A hint on mine is that she is a dark haired lady with a skirt and shortsleeve top with pearls. She has very long hair and bangs. I know this description leaves it wide open, lol. Keep on guessing who it could be. I've just gotta finish up sculpting the pearls to go with the outfit.

I'm off to order hair, I'm waiting on my girl to get to me. She should be here in a few days. I had to ship her via usps from KY. ^_^ i hope she did not break. All i have to do is paint and re-hair. Which re-minds me i need to order hair now!!!

Well it all depends on how you define long hair. :D It could be mars, it could be lead crow, it could be mistress 9, it could be pluto especially from that manga shot of her.... Many possibilities. You guys will just have to wait and see.

As for my net access, I had to borrow a lap top for a while and this thing is dinosaur slow. Ugh! I won't be able to upload any pics for a while. *sigh* It's either this or trying to figure out how to use the Wii to go online with it. I think I'll stick to the laptop for now. Faster to type on.

Now don't forget the shipping deadline everyone!

For round 2, since the holiday swaps are starting to kick off now, i'll probably wait until January to start round 2 so you guys in the mean time can just work on some random SM characters to have ready for the next round. ^_^v I've got a Queen Serenity waiting to go to a new home already too.
 
~sigh~ things keep going from bad to worse with this custom.

First my sculpty broke as i was painting. and i had to re-sculpt EVERYTHING.
Now that i'm back from vacation, and ready to finish her, her skirt broke in transit from ky, I packed her wonderfully, but the box she was in had other pony items, and the USPS dropped the box. :(( so a little super glue and she doesn't look as if she is broken. DPP when you get her and you don't like her send her back and I'll re do it. :)
 
Jenni823, I used Sculpey for a long time, and thought that it was the bees knees... that is, until I tried Apoxie Sculpt!!! Have you ever given it a go? That stuff is sooo durable! I accedentally let a pony I was sculpting on get too cured to detail, so I took a hammer to break the stuff off after it set up completely, and I am telling you what! It took some major force to get the Apoxie to crack!! I never realised how brittle Sculpey was, but I'll NEVER go back to it now!!! The only thing I don't care for with the Apoxie Sculpt is that when you first mix the two parts it is pretty sticky. I always let mine set up for about 20-30 minutes before I start to sculpt.

I am about 90% finished with mine, The only hint I am giving is that she is a Senshi, and one of her fuku colors is blue. And it's not Sailormoon. I am waiting on hair, and I need to finish her collar.
 
I use craft porcelain. I like it. I'm going to try axopie one of these days lol.

I fixed her skirt. This weekend i'm going to paint if i have nothing going on. lol
 
I also stand by apoxie sculpt. I was also working on a custom a while back and the apoxie has harden. I hated how the custom turned out so I took a hammer and went to town. It's a good way to get out some anger too lol. That is truly some very durable stuff.
 
oh I wished I was better with scuplty (only used it for like horns) or I would join I would love another Sailor scout custom

You can also sew clothing on. Some characters also have bodysuits on, so it would be minimal sculpting, take Tiger Eye for example.

I will be doing a 2nd round, but I'm aiming to start that round in January. Help pass the winter time blues with some fun.

ETA: Those of you guys in Flordia, if you are done with your customs, please try to get them out this week. I hope you all will stay safe with Hurricane Ike heading your way. I just hope it's not another Hurricane Andrew all over again.

Mina don't scare me with hurricanes, I go home next weekend!!!!!
 
Not trying to, but Hurricane Ike is a monster. It keeps bouncing between Category 3 and 4. I just hope it's not another Andrew like in the 90's. All of you stay safe that are in the approaching storm's path and keep us update if you evacuate. Keep an eye on that weather this week.

I finally got my bait for my pony a couple days ago and now I am not sure if I want to sculpt her sailor fuku,princess outfit,or go for a simple look built around this Scout's planetary symbol.I am so scared of messing up the Senshi Fuku.*dies from stress*X_x

But everyone should be getting near the end of their work now on their customs. Like myself, all I have left to do now is paint. Let me know what your status is if it's changed since your last post and also when you are aiming at shipping and if you've already shipped out. I'm going to send this little guy :alien_dance: out after the stragglers.

yea Ike is more than a little scary. i just hope it doesnt come here, PCola has had more than our fair share of awful hurricanes....i think Texas needs one LOL :D
 
OMG are you serious, its shipping time. :( ~bleh~ i took vacation at the wrong time, Jupiter is sitting here looking at me like WELL aren't you going to finish me. With moving and everything i may be shipping late, but Mina she WILL be SHIPPED!!!!!
 
I understand moving can be difficult especially when working on something. You've got your little studio like area set up and then others are wanting you to pack it up. Don't rush on your work because most of the time like many of us, you'll mess up. Just make sure you do it to the best of your abilities and have fun. Don't stress guys, this is all in good fun! I'm in love with the one I made and I hate having to give her up, but that is what the swap is all about. ;) As long as everyone keeps us all updated we should be ok, but jenni823, try your best to get it out before the end of this month.

Everyone, please be sure to put at least delivery confirmation on your packages and give that number to your partners so we can all keep track of things.

And luna, don't worry. Do you have an extra bait pony to practice on? Try one with a fuku and the other with the princess dress. Practice on them to see how it turns out. With apoxie sculpt, if it ends up you don't like it, you can always take a hammer to it once it hardens and destroy it or you can always sand it down or use the metal sculpting/shaving like tools to trim things up. With sculpley, if you don't like it, you just remove, reball it and then start reworking it again before baking. Apoxie you've got a few hours to work with it before it begins to harden. Depending on how thick you make it depends on how long you have. If you do it really thin, you've got like 2 hours, if it's thick, you've got about 3-5+ hours depending on the thickness. Don't be afraid. Remember back in school, did you ever work with that brown baking clay to make little clay pots? Same thing or at least similar. Don't be afraid, just give it a go. If it doesn't work, there are always plenty of ways to fix it. ;)

Yea, but only Mistress 9 wears pearls. :p LOL

Ah, but you've forgotten about the image of pluto with the pearls on and holding a glass of wine. It's a beautiful manga shot. ;) You'll just have to wait and see. :p hehe. You guys are good!
