On Monday I went and done the usual rounds of the charity shops in my town. I was surprised to find a bunch of ponies for once. I did leave some though due to being duplicates and not being what I’m interested in for my collection but I did get a good handful. In the next charity shop along, I found some more treasure! It was a worthwhile trip compared to usually coming home empty handed most of the time
Here’s is a bad before picture along with an after picture of my treasure nice and cleaned up:
G3 Pony: Starbeam
G4: Princess Celestia, Princess Cadance, Reebot DJ-PON3/Vinyl Scratch, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Scootaloo
Figures: Uncle Orange, Flower Wishes (both blind bags), Starlight Glimmer, Baby Flurry Heart (both Egmont magazine figures), Equestria Girls Spike dog
I did also buy one of those fakies (as seen in the ‘before’) which is in the process of being customised and rehaired.
These are the ponies I grabbed in the first shop:
At the back there, you can see my “Pandora Pinkie” that I had posted when I got her.
These ponies were from the next shop:
Starbeam has some tissue between her back legs to try to help with her squashed legs. Her previous owner gave her a sort of style with the front so I kept it that way when detangling and washing it out. I got Baby Flurry Heart as I had got her mum from the shop before (Princess Cadance) and Equestria Girls’ Spike dog because it’s just a pretty good figure! Also, I have no Spikes or dragons
Princess Cadance has a pretty badly cut tail that falls out when I brush it. I’ve got some new hair on the way to replace that. I’ll post here when it’s done but I think in terms of her mane I can live with it being short. I might have to tidy it up though after I straighten it some more
I got my first Princess Celestia as pictured above and her hair came out so nicely! I grabbed Pinkie because I really like the orange in her hair and alternate colour hair ponies are really nice to me. I got the Dashie too because she can join them with their style but how does anyone style these? The tinsel just… does nothing. Especially with Pinkie, they’re all separate. Celestia is fine though, the tinsel mixes well. If anyone has any styling advice for them I would much appreciate it
These next two ponies are ones I’m getting used to being in my collection. I really wasn’t keen on baby G4 ponies anyway as they just don’t look right to me but I took Scootaloo without much thought as I don’t have a Scootaloo already and maybe I was swept up in some sort of ‘pony-treasure-find’ excitement. I had to have a think if to get DJ-PON3/Vinyl Scratch because while I do really like the character and would really like one as a brushable and I had finally found one, it’s just the reboot style I would never buy. I even avoided these kinds of ones when they were in store! I got her anyway and was happy to see her cutie mark is on the other side. She lives by my bed and I am now quite used to them both being in my collection
At this point I realise the explaining and descriptions of each picture somehow get pretty long. I have absolutely no idea how that happens! I hope the pictures are enjoyable though
