I'd like another happy thread. I thought it would be nice to hear about how many, what kind and when you have had pets. (I count livestock)
So... first we had two cats Boris and Tina when I was born. At 2 we had a Bassett hound, and at five a shih tzu named cuddle pie. (That was on her akc paperwork) I won't be able to keep this in a correct timeline, so I'm just going off when we got them. Next was a mini doxie named T.W. little guy on his akc registration. (T.W. stands for teenie weenie) Then a pug named Pudgy because I loved betty boop, and a Jack Russell mix named pepper. We had to put Tabasco on the deck to keep pepper from chewing on the deck boards where light reflected off the windchime. We got Mr Mittens and little black sambo who were littermates. Half Persian cats that were 25lbs full grown and lean mean hunting machines. Then a n American shorthair named dainty dotty dee, black and white spotted. She wasn't as good a hunter. Then Amy a Turkish Van/Scottish fold. She was so soft, white with just a little black, and all of 10lbs full grown. I got to see her have kittens when we were given a purebred Persian stud, all black. His name was picasso. Their babies were beautiful. We had Contessa, my pony, her colt spooked dude, a gelding named breeze 'n bye, a mare named sugar, another mare named Nellie, another gelding named handyman, and my favorite gelding rebel, plus Chester the pony who was rather mean. Nobody else would touch him. We raised lambs for 4-H 3 years in a row. I had petunia, big Louie, and gwenivere. We hatched bantum chickens and they were sweet, the rooster's crow was amusing. We had barred rocks, Rhode island reds, and Americana's, all with their own rooster. I think our peak was 57 full size layers. We had a rabbit named bunnicula, an albino. We had fish, but mittens and sammy ate them. We had a garter snake until Sammy found it. My brother had an iguana named zymo (any get that reference?), Sammy at that iguana, so we reinforced the terrarium and got zeto (z-2) lol. Then there was a mini American Eskimo named massak, a corgi named nia, and now a Burmese mountain dog named zoe. There were also meat chickens, mini Turkey's, and more layers, plus "the trio of terror" bantum hens who let a 3 year old girl walk right up and pet them.
On my own there was anck-such-namun, stinky, and shady lane. Stinky was Egyptian Mau rejected by his mum. The other two just mixes. They tried to tell me that mun was a boy... nope, I can tell, girl, all black an so petite. Stinky was enormous. Shady was average size and all three only liked me. A yorkie named McGillicuddy Gene, and now my sweet Wesley. I told E should could have a hamster or cat, but she would need to do all the cleaning, care, and
feeding. She said no thanks.
So tell about your pets! I love animals, was even a groomer and worked a petco for a short time. I had a great uncle with an 8' boa that I got to see when I was 4. I like scales.
