So, Hasbro has dropped some actual clips of their new Pony Life show. I’m happy to see they’ve seem to have kept the same voice actors. Over all it seems like a very dumbed down show and I’m disappointed. I with hold full judgement until the show actually airs, but I’ve not got a lot of hope right now. :(

Here’s the theme song:

And trailer with clips:

It...I mean it could be cute if they had done it as like little shorts that show on tv between episodes of other things (like those Mickey Mouse ones if you’ve seen them) or maybe a web show or something. But as an actual full mlp show? Not so much

That theme song is... not my cup of tea. I don't like how they're trying to make it 'relatible' and, like you said, dumbed down. It's sad that this is the 'mane 6' that we're going out with. I felt the same way about going out with the G3.5 versions of the core 7, but at least that kind of kept some of the same formula. It really IS the end of an era

...I don't know if it's just me, but this is (in spirit) reminding me of that super-cartoony Thundercats reboot (that I haven't heard of since the teaser), and the shift from Teen Titans, to Teen Titans Go. :/ Just an... almost cheapening effect, if I can call it that, in terms of animation, style, and writing. No idea how it will ACTUALLY be, if there is actual smart writing in there somewhere or not but, this is just how it's coming off, to me. Doesn't give me hope, in any case. Yes, yes, I know it's "for kids", but there have been TONS of 'kids shows' that didn't talk down to their audiences.

Also again I don't know if it's just me or not, but in the clips, I couldn't understand what any of the ponies were saying AT ALL. All I could hear and understand was the "Pony Liiii-iife!"being shouted at me. :/ (I am getting old)

I admit I never watched the original FiM, but I still appreciate it for what it was, and what it did. Maybe it's because I never watched the show, but what I would have liked is if this new show featured a completely new set of characters. (okay, that's the collector in me, not wanting a thousand versions of the same 6 characters all over again).

(edit: I'll still probably collect the toys. I just have ZERO interest in the show at all. c_c; )

I'm.... so.... not down with this. They look vaguely chibi-esque. They don't remotely look like ponies. Chipmunks? Cats? I really don't see what they're trying to do here. (Other than sell toys) Maybe, they're trying to get the little kids.

Yes! Overall cheapening, and recycling the same tired characters.

Would it have killed them to go retro instead? Bring back heart throb and wind whistler at the least

Totally not just you, it’s what they’ve been doing a lot with cartoons lately. My brothers and I call shows that do this the Teen Titans Go of -insert whatever show they’ve remade (my least favorite so far is powerpuff girls)

Pony Life toys have been flying off the shelves and this show will further push those sales.

I guess it kinda is the end of an era since the girl's toy market has changed from what it was in 2010 now that social media and YouTube are more prevalent with kids and entertainment for them has adapted to fit those formats but it was inevitable so idk what to tell you

I think it looks kind of fun! It's a huge change from what we've gotten used to seeing, but at least it's pony and it's on the air. I would be sad if MLP was suddenly gone for good, so even though it's very different, I'll still give it a watch and enjoy it for what it is. It doesn't have to be Shakespeare to make me laugh!

Sorry haters, please don't flame me...I realize this is maybe disappointing for those who wanted a throwback. I enjoyed FiM, and am looking forward to whatever they'll do in this "sweet magic fast fun posh cute pony life." Psyched about Pinkie Pie and her magic potions, and AJ's freckles!

No haters allowed here. We just all love ponies.

I liked FiM for all I watched. I stopped just before the movie. I grew up with the g1 so there is a sentimental aspect for me. Also, I was horse crazy, real live horses and ponies. So them not looking like ponies does sadden me. It could still be ok. :)

That is one of the things I love about this place! Everyone is so nice! ^_^

I just checked what cartoons are trending on Amazon Prime last night. A fair number had simplistic art like this, so I think there must be a market for it with younger children. If they're clever with the script writing, they could pull in parents, too. (And keep FiM fans as well!) Not to mention, this is also a really cheap and easy style of animation to make.

I'm personally not a fan of this art style, but I can see why Hasbro is giving it a shot.

Must be in your area. All the PL toys here have been shelf-sitting. The little kids here have been nabbing the various dolls, peppa pig and breyer horses/unicorns.

It doesn't help that they're all Applejacks, Pinkie Pies and Raritys.

Well, each to their own. As a Certified Pony Ho, I will continue to buy the toys because I have no self restraint, but I don't see myself watching the cartoon or getting too worked up about new releases. Still, the Pony Universe is so big, there's still plenty of loot for me out there.

And there she goes again! Ponies, comics, small unsuspecting children, all crammed into the shopping cart in a fit of toy buying frenzy.

If they wanted those kids they wouldn't let 'em wander unsupervised in the toy department!

Here’s some more videos with more clips. I have a feeling it’s going to be the normal 20min episodes but have two mini episodes (like 10-12mins each). I am happy to see that they seem to have the same VA’s for the six and supporting cast, that’s good in my books. I just really enjoyed the “lessons” of FiM and not just babysitting material. They haven’t uploaded a video for AJ yet. :(
