I know nothing about the game other than what you said and that it exists, and as such I must ask do all the monsters in game look like farm animals and what kind of game is it because I have no idea.
Also that thing looks to small to ride, it looks like it would break if a person riding it.
(Takes a huge excited breath) I'm so glad you asked!
You've come to the right place!!!
Ok first off you have your basic low level monsters you're woolie is your sheep as explained before, but there are also buffamoo the "cow" monster that produces milk,
the cluckcoo "chicken" that produces eggs
But other monsters can be tamed as well such as goblins, dragons, wolves, gollems, mushrooms, grim reapers, ghosts, flame demons, elemental fairies, catgirls, mages, squirrels, living apple, and even pineapple monsters, and more! That's just off of the top of my head!
Any boss monster you meet can be tamed and be added to your party! and not to mention the fact that you can ride 90% of them except fairies chickens and some other really small monsters!
All you need is a monster barn which is the same as a normal barn in other games!
If you level up your friendship with your monster you can even make it water your plants while you're out dungeon crawling!
I feel this video is a good 9-minute summary of what you can do with your monsters in rune factory it also shows how absolutely ridiculous it looks to ride a woolie!
And that's just
one facet of the gameplay! There's also cooking, weapon crafting, armor crafting, medicine/healing potion crafting, dungeon crawling, 6 villagers of either gender to romance, get married too and have a child with that can also join you in combat not to mention that almost all villagers can join your party and fight alongside you on your many adventures provided you are a good friend with them!
Oh yeah don't forget it's a
farming game as well!
I think the best part about this series is that it's so simple anyone can pick it up and play it and at the same time can be so complicated and nuance that you can spend hours learning about the various different facets of everything mentioned above!!!
Crafting seems so simple on the surface but look a little closer and you'll find buffs, stat increases, special effects to add to anything you make, and it's got an amazing 3 ark story mode!! It's the perfect game in my opinion!
