Right, I'm in need of answers here, and I'm really hoping someone can answer this for me even thought this might be a bit of a longshot.

I was browsing a charity shop here in the UK and I found what I thought was a fakie. It's small, hard plastic and has no copyright information on it that I can see. However, browsing My Little Wiki I found this:

The one I found is the yellow one. Does anyone know if there were fakies made to look like these, or is this likely to be what I found? If so, two of the others were at the shop and I may go back soon to get the other two.

EDIT: Upon giving the article a closer look, it seems as if the same ponies were released in 2005 in the UK, so that's probably what I found. :) Thought I may as well post the answer.

yeah I think you're right, they're not fake.... they may have made fakies that looked like them, but odds are they weren't that small and made out of hard plastic, just a guess though.

Yeah, I'm guessing the reason there's no copyright on the ponies themselves is because it was meant to go on the bases they're standing on. Spring Treat has holes in three of her hooves. We're going back this morning so I can scoop up the other two I saw; they were only 50p.

I was also lucky enough to find Euro McDonald's Ivy at a street market. Her tail is a bit mangled, but I'm happy to have her.

Wow, you learn something new every day. I was convinced those were from Australia. Weird!

Here's Strawberry Reef's very helpful post about G3 prize ponies: http://www.mlptp.net/forums/g3-reference-library/60974-g3-prize-ponies-mcdonalds-others.html

Actually they were sold in Australia and Singapore as well. I had a whole bag of them back in 2007 and was selling them at the pony fair in the USA in 2008 for $2 each. If memory serves well, the Aussie ones only came with combs and not large accessories like those in the picture.

I did find the copyright information, actually: It's on the inside of the legs, very hard to see if you don't know it's there. Even though they're McD's they're pretty cute!

didn't mexico have some like this as well, or am I imagining things?

Oh good, thanks for the info! Glad to know I'm not imagining things!

Novavelle- yep, Mexico did prize ponies too, check out this thread, which lists all the prize ponies from the G3 line: http://www.mlptp.net/forums/g3-reference-library/60974-g3-prize-ponies-mcdonalds-others.html
