Just curious if anyone has listed on craigslist for ponies as a "wanted" item. If so, have you received any responses? Have you gotten anything good or just some people wanting to sell you fakies? I'm curious, as I've seen the ads on their from time to time w/people looking for ponies, usually vintage. Any stories?

ya i get responses. prolly about 6 in the last 2 months but none have panned out
i think they go on ebay and realize they can make a lot more money
ha!!

i AM a bargain hunter!!
hehe

yes, but I am in the middle of two craiglist "cities" and both are an hour away so many people do not like to send pics or think of shipping. I spoke to a lady that once she got them out and sent pictures jacked her price up, then refused to answer andy email and the such.

I have found play worthy ones that I get for the girls. They do like to collect and I enjoy the hunt for them so that is fine. I did recieve in one lot a SS northstar that is very noce and thick so I was happy. This lot was bought for my daughter and she fell in love w/her.

I posted an ad looking for them awhile ago. I didn't get any responses. I don't seem to have very good luck with Craigslist anyway. Either the people have an inflated sense of their worth and refuse to come down, or their price is very good but they already sold it or won't answer emails. I've about given up on it!

i thought about it, to see if it helps me get rid of my g3s. but every time i look my little ponys up, i always get mustang cars and other horse related items, makes the search harder.

I've posted 3 want ads and always get at least 1 response per ad, but none of them have followed through for me. A friend of mine SCORED with a craiglist want ad- she got a motherload of G1s and accessories.

I always get people responding and saying, "I have these for sell on ebay, check it out!" or people from other states so I can't even pick it up so there's no point! I'm just trying to save on shipping- I want to give the people what they're worth.

I have, but I have only gotten one good haul from it. The rest of the responses i've gotten were for playsets, or the g3 newborns, which I do not collect.

it's always worth a shot though!

I got 2 awesome deals from Craigslist.

The first one was a large lot of G3 ponies, which are the ones I collect. I got a ton of ponies for my collection, including the elusive Anchors Away and Thistle Whistle (scented) for $50. It was a little girl selling her collection.

The second deal was a ton of G1's - probably around 80 or so - possibly more, I can't remember - for $125 shipped. I could have driven to get them, but gas would have been more than the shipping was.

I ended up selling the G1's on ebay, and keeping most of the G3's but selling my doubles on ebay.

I have an ad up for ponies on a local recycle-type website. I have not gotten any responses, and it has been up for a few months.

I have never posted an ad on Craigslist - only responded to them.

im sure you can find awesome deals on craigslist, if you are the one looking to buy, cause you know you will meet and pay for it. but if you are the one posting them for sale and you get interested buyers, but once you exchange emails, numbers and a place to meet. they flake out on you. i have had them happen to me a couple of times. it is very annoying, especially when i really wanted the money.
