male collectors

Me!

I'm one. I live in Virginia, though I'm thinning out my collection pretty soon. I love ponies!
 
I'm a girl, but I just wanted to say that there are a lot of guy collectors in this community- I think I could name off about 10 or 11 just off the top of my head, but they'll probably be around soon to say hi.
I think it's awesome that there are male collectors of this traditionally female-geared toy, it brings a lot to the community and I'm always glad that not only girls enjoy ponies.
 
yeah it's to bad that they have to gear toys towards one or the other, or maybe society just makes it that way, i'm still pretty hush hush to other guys about my collecting, stems back my time when i was in school cause i was made fun of ALOT for when i used to bring them to show and tell in elementary school, it followed me all the way to high school, my cousins made fun of me alot too, so i really only tell close friends i know wouldn't care, it's really too bad at 26 i still feel that way.

Ha! I'm 26 too! Which ponies are your favorites? I got made fun of when I was little, too, but I don't care anymore. Still, I only tell people I know don't care, but that's not many.

hmmmm i don't know if i have a favorite, i like so softs i wish i had more, right now i have paradise, northstar and sundance, for g3's i like waterfire and love the colour of soda floats hair

Hi!!! Here's another MLP collector who's a guy! I'm Tim 24 and I live in Cleveland. I think my favs are the following: G1: Star Hopper, Speedy, Tex, Whizzer and Glow. G2: Sky Skimmer and the unicorns. G3: Minty(!!!), Cloud Climber, Brights Brightly. I got picked on in school too for the ponies. It's amazing how mean people can be.
 
ahhhhhhhhh tim i feel your pain, i have the first pose for the g3 minty, i don't enjoy how they re-issue them in different poses, there should just be one pose for each pony

Hey Pinwheel, there's plenty of male collectors around but sometimes they're a bit shy. Baby Ribbs and Spoosh are guys as well and there are others too.

Sometimes you just need to tempt them out. I've heard that minty unicorns work well. :biggrin: Don't worry though you aren't alone. Just get out there and have a chit chat with everyone and you'll be surprised by some of the people you meet.

Holler! Im a guy too, 25 from New York. And ponys arent the only thing I collect, though they are my fav. I like Rainbow brite, Bratz, and SuperHero Squad:penguinaspin:

YAY TO GOLDENCLOPPER!!!!!! Wait... that's me! :D I used to be an 80s toys packrat, but my interests have somewhat specialised and converged solely on ponies, which have always been my favourite. I have a dormant Care Bear collection that has stopped growing. Kept Pokemon for a while, but gave them away to my cousin. Everything has pretty much given way to just ponies alone. They take up a lot of my space, and there's not much space left for anything else really. An all consuming collection - WOOT! My oldies favs are of course the Twinkled Eyes, characters from the So Soft sets, and some of the earlier ones, and the Sundae Best ponies. I was a real cartoon fan when I was younger, so I collect mainly with the shows and comics as reference on how my ponies should look like. For example, between a dark pink and soft pink Cotton Candy, I'd take the soft one, because that's how she appears on the cartoon. I used to just want the newborns and the cartoon/comic characters, but eventually I caved in, and took in everything under the sun. Sigh.... LOL
