Hahah, never while shopping for ponies, but I have a pony sticker on my nametag at work (it was fluttershy until it peeled off and now it's Pinkie Pie) and I sometimes get comments on it ;3
Usually it's little kids who want to tell me who their favorite pony is, which is really adorable, but one time it was this girl in her twenties who complimented me on the sticker but said she "preferred the older ones". I was so excited I gibbered something about how cool it would be to have stickers of Firefly or Buttons instead but that I was stuck with the ones that were actually in stores, and it made my day so much. I was grinning like an idiot for the rest of the day~ I wish I could figure out who she was!
Oh, and the other day a guy came through my line wearing a "brony" shirt, too, but another cashier got to him first so I didn't get to chat with him
The closest I have come to that was being the toy aisle and watching a girl (who was probably about 12) try to convince her mom she was not too old for ponies. I couldn't help myself and started to giggle. The mom kind of looked at me with a dirty look. I couldn't blame her, I was some strange person laughing at them. I apologized and explained that I was in my 30's and in the aisle to buy ponies for myself. I told the little girl that there were many people out in the world of all ages who collect them. She looked at her mom, and said, "See.....I'm not too old....she's WAY OLDER than I am." I took the unintentioned stab in stride and laughed again. The scene worked out for her....the mom sighed and said, "You better take care of it.....and still have her when you're this lady's age." She snatched up a Rarity and thanked her mom about a thousand times in 10 seconds. lol
