The planning for this year’s Fair in Louisville, Kentucky on July 17th and 18th at The Galt House Hotel is now in full swing! I wanted to take the time to share some information about the plans for this year’s Fair.

Updated 5/31 to add Exclusive Details:

As you may already be aware, The My Little Pony Fair will offer a unique exclusive pony figure for sale at this year’s event. We are thrilled about the design that Hasbro created for us. Collectors at last year’s event requested a green pony and Hasbro listened and delivered!

We have received multiple questions about how the 2010 Exclusive Pony will be distributed. This year’s My Little Pony Fair Exclusive Pony will be available for purchase at the 2010 My Little Pony Fair on July 17th and 18th in Louisville, Kentucky. Attendees who order their tickets to the event online before July 5, 2010 will receive one Exclusive Pony voucher per paid ticket in their registration packets. This voucher guarantees the ticket holder the opportunity to purchase 1 exclusive pony before sales are open to other attendees.

Once sales are open to attendees who purchased their tickets at the door, persons who redeemed vouchers may reenter the line and purchase additional Exclusive Ponies.

It should also be mentioned that this year, the My Little Pony Fair has half as many exclusive ponies available for purchase as in previous years. If you are not attending the event and wish to get an exclusive pony you might want to find a “Fair buddy†who is willing to purchase and ship to you.

This year’s exclusive comes packaged in a unique Art Pony box. The price of this year’s exclusive will be the same as last year’s Exclusive Pony, $35.

Updated 5/28 to add:

MLP Fair staff is currently accepting submissions from collectors who would like to be part of our event program by giving a presentation or demonstration. (We are still interested in having people sign up for demos!)

Are you an expert on alternant Birth flower Ponies? Do you know the ins and outs of buying ponies from foreign auction sites? Maybe you know all there is to know about MLP pamphlets, stickers, or comics? Can you make awesome pony themed jewelry?

The MLP Fair staff is looking to add a few demonstrations and presentations to our 2010 schedule of events. If you are planning on attending this year’s 2010 My Little Pony Fair and would like to be considered to be added to the program to share your knowledge or talents with other collectors, please email mlpfair@mylittleponyconvention.com and submit your presentation idea. You will need to include your real name, MLPArena or MLPTP board name, a detailed description of what you would like to present, your experience in that area, and what you will need for your presentation (projector, document camera, copies for handouts etc.) If you are thinking about doing a demonstration, a photo of a finished product is appreciated so we can get an idea of your finished product. Presentations and demonstrations should last 15 to 30 minutes in length. All presentation and demonstration ideas will be considered.

Games and Activities:
The 2010 My Little Pony Fair is going to be ultra fun with plenty of games and activities for all. Spread over two days, there will be lots of opportunities for different types of game play. By participating in the games you will have chances to win raffle tickets which will be used in an exclusive game player raffle for some fabulous prizes. Get your game face on and join us in the fun!

Gallop Through Pony Land: This game is similar to a childhood favorite, Candy Land—only life size! There will be a limited number of people able to play this game so we will have everyone interested put their name in a hat for the chance to play.

Pony’s Last Straw: See how many Smarties you can move using your breath and a straw! Participants will have 30 seconds to see how many Smarties they can move into a cup. May the person with the best lung capacity win!

MLP Bingo: Just like the old standby but with pony pictures and symbols instead of numbers. There will be multiple rounds and everyone can have the chance to play. You’ll need a bit of luck and also need to study up on your Pony names and symbols.

Bushwoolie Toss: Toss as many beanbag Bushwoolies into the goal in 30 seconds as you can. Keep your eyes on the game and focus and hopefully you can get some raffle tickets!

Hopscotch: The game with a pony name! Using your balance and hopping skills—hop your way to victory!

Pony Art: Think you can draw the best pony on the block? Then participate in our pony drawing contest- but watch out as this game has a twist!

MLP Trivia: This live trivia game is for those with mad pony knowledge. Questions will be asked and you will write out your answer on a dry erase board—people will be eliminated from the group with wrong answers. Bring your thinking cap and see if you can make it through until the end.

Pony Symbol Quiz: Stop by our pony symbol board and see if you can name all of the symbols. An entry box will be provided.

Hello Pony Pals: You will receive a card with booth numbers on it—visit each booth number on your card for a signature and turn in your card for a random drawing.

Hope to see you at this year’s My Little Pony Fair and Convention!

Just as a complete aside, I thought the Fair was in Las Vegas, with it being in Rhode Island every five years?

Would love to go - seems like a lot of fun!

How does the exclusive pony thing work? Do you get one by winning a contest or do you buy them?
Also can the general admission tickets get sold out?

I wish I could go...so bad. I would love a pony exclusive but they seem so expensive. Someday I will get to go. It looks like alot of fun:)

so it is that lime green thing...bleh. nothing against he lime green but with the pink it's just...ew. still, i'll be making a McClusive

you can but the Exclusives before or at the Fair. yes, the MLP Fair one is more expensive; last year the Peacock cost me $30 while the SDCC only was $15. thenagain, you can get the SDCC on the Hasbro wesite, but you can only get the Fair exclusive at the Fair.

:reaper: Kat :reaper:

my wallet is thankful that my eyes do not like the lime/pink combo.

I am SO glad that I am not the only one! :) Personally, I was hoping for something as elegent as last year's.

I wanna purchase a table. Not sure i'd sell much, but anyone who is going wanna go 1/2s with me?

I'm really excited to be going again this year:D I've already started making lots of customs, window clings, drawing and all kinds of stuff:D If anyone has any requests please let me know!

The games sound like a lot of fun too! Hubby wanted me to put in a request to see if the fair will do the significant other quiz again, he loves that. Can't wait to see everyone again! I'm just glad its within driving distance again:D

I actually really like the exclusive too!

I think the Fair Pony is cute. I don't mind the green at all.

I am also curious as to when it was decided that the Fair was not going to be held in Las Vegas?? Thats really a shame...Vegas is only a four hour drive from me. I could of actually attended.

Hi,

Just a quick question- I actually already asked through the website, but thought others would benefit from the answer too, so I'm asking here. The website says ticket sales end June 5, is that true? I thought they would sell tickets at the doors again this year. Or should I really rush and get my ticket? I'm not even certain I can go, but I hope to make it! Thanks!

And, I like the green gal too!

That is a good question... I'll see what can be done to extend the ticket deadline. I think that when we reset the ticketing system it may have kept the date from last year as the cut off (which makes sense as 2009 Pony Fair took place in mid June). This year doesn't happen until mid July so I'll play around with the system tonight and should be able to extend the deadline. I think that ticket sales are usually online until a week or two before the event so the staff can get all the registration packets ready in time for the event.

Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention! Please, if anyone else has questions or comments/suggestions about the 2010 Fair, please feel free to ask them and I'll answer of find an answer. :)

Edited to add: I changed the ticketing deadline from June 5th to July 5th in our ticketing system so now you don't have to rush. However, if you are sure you are going to attend, it would help us out if you purchase tickets sooner than later. The more $ we have on hand before the event happens the more we buy and plan for attendees!

SweetTune,

I was also told that the Fair would only be held in Las Vegas until it returned to Rhode Island for the 30th anniversary....The person I asked said that it would be that way because Las Vegas was the cheapest site to have the event at (a fact I was shocked at...) Bur, Las Vegas is so much easier to get to for us in different countries...I'd also like to know what happened to this plan.

Thanks!

an idea for the fair

hey sweettune!

I was thinking that there should be some sort of message board or email group. That way us collectors who are definatly going will know whats going on.

If you are interested I have a my little pony group through yahoo, which I'd be willing to let you use for the fair/ partially take over. It's been inactive for about two years now, but it's been around since 1998.

let me know, I don't want to just delete it.

I hope I can find a pony pal who is going to the fair, and can help me get that gorgeous green gal. :)

The Arena's fair post has a comment saying that you can't buy the fair pony outside of the fair this year - so basically, if you don't go, and can't get someone to buy you one, you're SOL.

Is there an offical stickied thread here for people who can buy fair ponies for those of us who cannot attend? I'd be more than happy to pay more than the cost of the pony to whoever could pick one up for me.

Hi SoccerChicka,

You're right, the previous Fair staff did say that the event would be held in Las Vegas for the next several years. However, the previous Fair organizer was very busy and overwhelmed and for a while it looked like it wasn't going to happen at all in 2010. The venue was changed to Louisville, KY so we could have a more hands on approach with planning and coordination. It is more central and we were offered a very reasonable venue rate (compared to past venues the MLPFair has used). We are able to focus much more on the games, activities, and events this year than in previous years. While I understand the confusion, these changes were announced in January so everyone could plan accordingly if they still wanted to attend the 2010 Fair.

I hope that answered your question. :catfly:
