Wow, I didn't know what I was expecting, but these are some really different comments than that I thought I'd get.
What I see is that lots of you are being more selective and careful this time around, which to me is awesome since I've just recently gotten into being more thrifty and trying to enjoy the things that are free in life, heh.
Anyway, it's good to see that others feel similarly to how I feel.
It's also really cool to learn that a lot of you don't really even like the G4s. I mean, I really like them, but I have not read a lot of "G4 dislike" on the boards the way there used to be some when G3s were new.
Thanks for all the answers, guys and gals!
I for one am keeping up with my two tools to keep the herd minimal:
1. I make a list of only those I really like, and stick to that.
2. I can only get one if I reach a goal I set for myself (usually it's one related to work or my masters classes.)
It really helps, and I think in the end it'll help me enjoy each pony more if I have fewer to deal with.
I'm also gearing up to weed out some of my herd. I have made the mistake in the past of buying ponies I just thought I needed for the sets, but ones that I don't actually like that much. It's more work on the back end when you do that because you have to decide to part with them, clean, style, and photograph, sell, ship, and remove from your inventory. Eugh!
I agree with Ianthe99, finding them in thrift stores is very rewarding! Unfortunately, that's something I don't have great luck in!
