OK so I am a total noob when it comes to the history of these two amazing communities here at the TP and over at the Arena. Sorta kinda got tip of the iceberg understanding of the reason for there being two sites and yeah, ok, there is sorta an understandable different flavor here vs there...

so here's the deal = "NIRVANA"

Skeen posted awesome pics of ponies I haven't a clue about... Todlless same thing I think about princess variants.

And I'm seeing new members coming on all the time = so cool to see new folks and new customs and just great to see how things ebb and flow in just a year's time hanging here... and yet,

I can't help but feel a bit overwhelmed about how much there is to learn... and so I'm wondering out loud

is there any interest for more Nirvana stuff here?

Or even more daring - is there any chance before anything freezes over of all the amazing and incredible mods figuring out how to architect a superfantabulous SINGLE MLP site? I know, I know, it's hard to imagine on so many levels and yet, here I am dreaming of all the pony people sitting around the same campfire... (ok, now that's even too schmaltzy for me = but you get the idea ;-) )

If this topic is too controversial, feel free to move to friends forum or wherever, but I'd be interested to know if I'm the only kook who on occasion gets kinda bummed hanging in two places knowing there's only so many free-time hours to party and feels "what else am I missing out on?"

thanks for reading and really to all the mods = I am absolutely in your debt to your tireless time rendering all this pony goodness so please realize this is not meant in any way shape or form to be a smack at what is done here... I'm just curious

As for the question about Nirvanas and a Nirvana forum, I'm going to pull a Hasbro and say "Not at this time," but "Never say never." :p

If there's ever anything you want to know about ponies, there are plenty of experienced and knowledgeable people here who I'm sure can answer just about anything. I've been collecting seriously since 2000, and there's still a lot that not even I know!

I would highly doubt that there would someday be one "supersite" of sorts--the MLPTP and Arena are very distinctly their own communities, with their own character and flavors, and there isn't any evidence to suggest we would all be merging, at least not any time in the foreseeable future. ;)
 
LOL good old post find Jewel. ALthough I have a dispute with the history. I think this .net site started in Jun of 2005 since that is when you and I say we joined. I have been around since about 2001. Wow...ten years. Crazy.
Anyway this is definatly the older site. And it's not as swamped with teenieboppers which I prefer.

yah, I kinda figured I wouldn't see any campfires some summer day anytime soon but still, I can dream - if only for the information gathering part of it -Hasbro (and their affiliate manufacturers) made what = like a gazillion ponies! (understatement of the century)

and no worries on the Not Now Nirvana forums - figured at least it's worth it to ask and good to see that when folks do post, we definitely have the membership here to point 'em in the right direction/answer questions etc.

Again, really do appreciate the board that's developed here over the years ...

I know, they just need to hurry up and perfect cloning so I can always have one of me online and connected to all this pony goodness ;-)


and now now you "oldster" whippetluv you - where else are you gonna get a future fan base for your amazing customs and siggies and stuff ?? bring the young'uns here so that they may be taught by the wise "originals" I say

I do think it would be nice to see more nirvana stuff here. I do give the arena big kudos on their galleries and I always check there for nirvanas first.
 
Yeah, we've never had a separate section for international/variant ponies, but we've always just posted in Show and Tell or General MLP. I don't know that much about them, but I think the main reason is I haven't gotten there yet- I probably would have had I not gotten so busy lately, but now I'm struggling to keep up with regular pony news, and still haven't gotten up the money to start on varients, much less make a want list.

However, we do have a few sections here that are devoted to internationals/variants:

As far as the separate sites, I think most people still consider us one community, and there are definitely more mlp sites that the mlptp and the arena. As individuals own the sites, there's little chance of merging, but I think most of the time although the content and style of discussion isn't the same, most major news is trickled down through both. I kind of like having the different sites, even though I really view this one as my pony home. I started off going to both, but rarely visit other pony sites. I think it's that way for a lot of people, the find the one that works best for them. But I totally understand where you're coming from! I felt that way in the beginning too, but I've ended up liking how it is.

i would LOVE it if there were a nirvana forum!!
i momstly use the arena now, although i very much prefer the TP and its high quality interface and fun smileys LOL.
but i now only collect argies so the arena is of more use to me

i still love it here!! good vibes ^_^
 
There are a lot of cross over members on both boards.
I know I was a member on the "old" board which sort of just sifted into
this new site due to the original owner leaving the community.
It's easier to monitor one site for topics rather then dual postings.

I see a lot of cross postings of topics on both boards by members and the conversation is pretty much the same on the threads. :elespin: There are enough nirvana experts around here to answer questions or point you to some Community member who can help.

This :first:

I haven't had time for either forum much in ages and it's so nice to be back. I like both sites for different reasons - Arena gets a lot more traffic but TP is more 'homier' especially to me probably because it was the first site I joined.
