Official MLPFair 2010 Date and Location Announcement

Hello everyone,

I've spoken with Jen about the need to get the past Fair merchandise issues cleared up. In addition to the Memphis customs, I am going to be working to help settle up any outstanding Fair merchandise and ponies owed. It's a good time for me as I'm between semesters and have spare time to dedicate to getting it all cleared up so we can move on.

So... regarding this I checked the last list Collector1 posted on the MLP Arena. and am going to begin a separate thread on MLP Arena Trader Support to keep everyone up to date. Let's direct any discussion about the outstanding issues there to keep this thread only about the 2010 MLP Fair.

First I need to ascertain who is still owed Fair exclusives and merchandise. I'll be in touch with WF to make sure we have the items needed, and then get them out to everyone as soon as possible. We may be out of certain items, but I will do everything possible to make sure everyone is taken care of as best as I am able.

SO: What I need you to do is to EMAIL me to let me know your situation. I've had issues with PMs before. We're going to start with the last known list that Collector1 had going, and go from there. Ideally I'd like to see it all cleared up by the end of February.

I am not on the Fair staff this year, but will be working my best to try and resolve these issues so that the Fair can continue to go forward, people can feel better about everything. So I'm just asking for everyone's understanding and patience as we get this cleared up. I wasn't around for all of it, but I know there were a lot of misunderstandings and communication problems. Jen is too busy to devote to it the time it needs to be cleared up, but she is working with me the best she can to see it through.

From what I know, the Fair was moved from Vegas so that it would be easier for this year's staff, and because SO many people were disappointed with the location. It's impossible to please everyone

This is exciting!!! My mom lives in Elizabeth town so i have someone to watch the kids!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YAY!!!! -DANCES-
 
Might be doable,I got some nice ponies left from whats left of my collection days and some HTF G3's not mention every other G3 on the planet lol. I still ike customs so trades and cash could be in order. Will have to wait and see how things are when it happens. It's nice to see the location moved around this time. Vegas as a perma location was cool, but not too doable for me.
 
Sounds like fun! Does the fair have a website? Is there anything you need help with?
 
Well I know my GF and I will be too broke (she is a teacher so no salary in the summer and we are planning a trip to Florida in late august) to go myself. But perhaps if I bum a ride and share a hotel room with someone local I might be able to come. (puppy dog eyes) It would be nice to see new faces, but not the end of the world if I don't. The MD meet/fair has become one of the largest events in the US, so I won't feel a total loss since I can go to that event!
 
Whippet if you don't mind sharing a room with me and the babies and possibly my mom, maybe we can work something out :)

Thanks for the update, Nightlight. Unfortunately, not all our members post on the Arena, and some don't even have membership there. However, I understand that you're volunteering to get this all done, which is great!

So, the other mods and I will provide the information from the thread you update at the Arena here so our members without accounts will not be left out. Thanks again for working to get the outstanding transactions and whatnot sorted out.

I would love to come the fair... I am not sure if I can make it out this year... Mabey next year.

You might be able to stay with me Whippet. :) I'm hoping to make it to the MD meet this year if all goes well.


If you haven't made it to the MLP Fair before, and want to meet other collectors you should give it a go. There is something pretty awesome about a convention that has on average 200+ collectors in attendance each year. Personally, I love the MD meet (I've been several times) and Jewel is an awesome host, but the MLP Fair and MD meet are completely different events and I don't think you can really compare apples to apples. Jewel's meet is a private meet at a private residence with around 30 collectors in attendance and the MLP Fair is open to the general public and on a much larger scale with Hasbro's involvement.

Both have their advantages and both are really fun events, but comparing them to each other doesn't do either event justice.
 
Ky eh? Why not do it the same weekend as Breyerfest to get a bigger crowd? Just move it the Lexington.

Why has the fair been moved to Louisville? Better conference rate?
 
oooh im am so tempted to go - anyone else from the UK doing the trip? are there airports near there? It would probably be me coming over on my own, so id need to do some crazy arranging to make sure its safe lol
 
The Louisville airport is very, very close, and the hotel offers shuttle service to and from the airport. :)

The La Quinta - where I'm probably staying offers Airport shuttle service. I roomed with Rainbow Magic (also from the UK) at the RI Fair. It takes a bit of arranging but I'm sure you'll be fine if you decide to come!
 
If it was in Vegas I could just drive there! I'm in Reno :)
 
Ummmmmmmmmmmm. What is going on??? We were told last year at the Fair that it would be held in Las Vegas for the next three years!! Why did this change?

It's very disappointing news. :(
 
I know quite a few people are disappointed about this turn of events but I'm totally stoked! Louisville isn't too bad a drive for me. Man I spent last night getting a group together for this and in the span of four hours I had three other people wanting to go! This is going to be my first MLP Fair. W00T!
