I was just reminiscing over this past year of pony purchases. I have just found some absolute *gems* and while they were really expensive, I am so happy I bought them!


So I was curious- what was YOUR best pony splurge this year? It doesnt have to be your most expensive (though those are fun to talk about too!!), but what pony related purchase has made you the happiest this year?

For me? DEFINITELY the 2 MOC Firefly and Medley pendant charms that Pikabubba was sweet enough to sell me. I LUV U PIKA!!

How about you guys?
 
Definitely my "MOC" Tunefull. The bubble is half detached so I gently pulled her out, pet her, and then stuffed her back in XD
One super sexy pony right there!
 
Aww Whit I'm so happy they went to the perfect home!!

My ultimate pony splurge this year was a grail of mine that I've been after for years. Alt. birthflower Water Lily. Thank you so much to SS for selling her to me. She has found a cozy home here! I love her so much!
 
No big slurges for me this year...but in the past when I got Rapunz and went crazy bidding on ebay....that was the slurge of my lifetime!
 
Well, pretty much everything this year has been a splurge! But, so far as most extravagant, probably Brazil sitting Bowtie and Brazil rearing Milky Way.

Then again, I've probably spent as much on my Mexican collection this year as I have on those two..

And that's not counting the Brazil CP Gusty and French Moondancer I'm getting for xmas (for myself!).
 
My best splurge this year would definitely be my Trillion custom! every time I see it I just have to smile!
 
Ummm I've done a lot pony buying this year. I think my biggest spends were, both MO Birthday Susters, MIP G3 Rosey Posey and Brazaillian NBBe Baby Lofty:)
 
That would prolly be my NBBE Baby Ribbon. Granted I paid less than $60 for her, but she was the most expensive pony I bought this year, the second being Hollywood for $50 that I got from Jewel's pony meet this past summer.
 
The biggest splurge for me this year is my beautiful MOC Bluebelle that a wonderful member at the arena sold me.

Although, some other highlights for the year include:

- all the MB's minus Lightning
- most of the G3 Birthstone set
- a number of international Bluebelles
- 2 white Bluebelles
- a bunch of international CP ponies
- a lovely custom made by ladyphoenix9

The year's disappointments:

- missing out on Dutch Diary by 50 cents!
- missing out on Trolley because my browser froze when I went to place a bid in the last minute of the auction. I then emailed the person asking if they still wanted to sell it because no one had bid on it, and they said no. :(
 
I had a *lot* of splurges this year XD I managed to get my top four most wanted ponies!

My biggest was Baby Dolphin, hopefully the first and last time I break my $50 per pony limit! She is so beautiful though and I had been hunting for her for so long!

My other big purchases were NBBE Baby Ribbon, Baby Buttons and Baby Cat.

Oooh and I can't forget my precious Argentina Baby Moondancer! I adore her!
I had a lot of good pony purchases looking back XD
 
hmm... well seeing as I just got back into ponies at the beginning of this year, every pony I have except for my childhood collection was a 2009 buy. That doesn't sound like such a splurge, because it's individual ponies... But uhm, I have a lot now after only 8 or so months. My single most expensive pony was the Diva TinkaTinkaToo at $45.00 that was a bit of a splurge
But I think my best buy was getting Love Wishes, Diva Minty, Portobella, Pepperberry and Winter Snow all at the same time from Sabrea for less than half the cost of Tink.

ugh! how annoying! I've been trying to get Trolley and Frisco myself and there always seems to be pain associated with getting them.
 
This year I did splurge on um . . . a few occasions :p which is why I had to have a break for awhile - I've only really started buying again in the last few weeks.

A few that come to mind Li'l Cupcake and Sweetcake, the most gorgeous Dabble with green hair from SS on ebay, Brazil Heartthrob who I had wanted forever, Locket with her puffy sticker (this was a bargain pricewise but I was willing to go superhigh and since it was my grail the best win I had this year!) Princess Misty with crown and ribbon, Dutch Cat pony, 3 7 Tales ponies with combs, Magenta Satin N Lace, Baby Racer is in the mail.

I also won 5 of the Yr 3 sea ponies this year but not sure if they count as a splurge because I never paid much over $30 for any and I won my SS Satin N Lace for $11 but they definately made me happy you have to love ebay sometimes. I was also lucky for all the great people in the community who either held ponies for me for awhile or let me pay them off thanks pony peoples :)

My biggest disappointment was yesterday computer had a moment while I was in a bidding war for a great lot of ponies that looked llike it had magenta satin N lace and Hollywood and other flutters with wings I'm still sulking but well done to the lucky winner if you are here I hope a member won it not a reseller. My other disappointment was missing out on an Icey on Ebay Aust who went for under $50 and he was perfection and local shipping only of course - I forgot to bid!

big ole box of G2's with some g1 clothes, g1 and g3 ponies, couple g2 playsets and pamphlets. Most importantly though it had G2 Prince Firefly!! He is so gorgeous with his bright green/yellow hair and dark purple body!

Come to think of it that's about the only pony stuff I've bought this year. Money has been very tight.
 
I think at the UK Con this year... I spent about 170 pounds in a day, lol!

On one item, it was my MOC Gingerbread. I have pricier ponies, but I got those for less than they are worth and this MOC was the most I spend on one item ;)

Oh... this whole past summer was one big (unwarranted...) splurge, but only after my first, and *best* splurge, also my first real pony purchase (not counting two small "souvenirs only" from the RI Convention in 2008), the one that got this started... and the one I could sing that old song "You're Still the One" to, who will never ever be sold not for any reason other than dire philanthropic need on someone else's part not my own... LOL....See my sig pic. :)

And after that would be the European/Canadian/Australian BReezies with their respective G3 "adults", some are actually still MIB. I'm only missing two Breezies!!
 
Not to much this year. I would say Cascade and german skydancer that I got from ebay. grand total was like 40 something dollars minus shipping from australia
