What was your very first pony? And how did you get it?

My first pony

My first ponies (I had two) were Glory and Moondancer. I always thought Glory was a boy and Moondancer was the girl. It's still hard to think otherwise. I got those two from my older sister. She had gotten them from my mom, but easily became disinterested in them because her passion was Barbie.
 
My first was Flat Foot Minty.

My mum took my brother to the shop to choose a pony for me and tried to steer him toward the prettier coloured Bluebelle or Cotton Candy as they were more girly.

I'd seen them in a comic and been on for weeks about how much I would love one.

He insisted on Minty and so my love affair started. I must remind him sometime that my addiction is all his fault. :lol:

My very first pony was kimono and my boyfriend gave her to me. He surprised me with her and then my collection started after that. :)
 
I got my ponies from my older sister. Mainly the slumber party pack, Slugger, Sundance and a few other earthlings. My mom, at the time, was against pegasi and unicorns. I warmed her up to them, though. ^^ My first G2 was Ivy, followed by Sundance and my first G3 was Sweetberry, who I bought at Toys 'R Us and then followed by Pinkie Pie.
 
My first G1 pony was the pink ember, and I called her pinky :wink: . My first G3 was Rainbow Dash. And when I started collecting again, I bought a blue ember off of ebay. I still have High Flyer, Dazzle Glow, Teeny Giggles, and a couple others from my original collection, my mom is saving the rest for any grandkids : ).
 
some of these answers are really strange.. one person said they got a FF in 1985.. is it possible that some were still in stores by then? And one of the last posts was baby Ember.. but I thought you could only get the mail order form from another pony? hmmm..


Not to attack anyone's stories at all, I just know my 3 and 4 year old pony memories are a little muddled, and wondering if anyone else's could be.
 
My first was Blossom, but have no recollection whatsoever of how I got her. I wish I could remember, I'm guessing either a birthday or Christmas.

i can't remember which pony was my first - I think it's either moondancer or glory or i might have gotten a bunch of unicorn at the same time. I got them all on ebay.
 
My first My Little Pony of my childhood herd was Peachy, who I got for Christmas or my birthday..I was two, not good memory making years.. from my beloved great aunt. My aunt passed away in late 2002, and when I began recollecting in summer 2003 (after finding this board on a random ebay-surfing trip), I wanted to make it special. So the first pony I bought when I started collecting was.....Peachy! And to this day, she makes me smile when I think that my Nana started such a beloved hobby all those years ago. :)
 
I don't remember who my first G1 was, but I do remember being with my mom when she bought me the Midnight Castle Firefly. It's like it happened yesterday :p And to this day, Firefly is my most precious pony :mrgreen:

My first G3 was Berry Pickin Butterscotch. I bought her soon after I rediscovered my "lost" G1s, and decided I wanted to add her to my old collection (plus, she was named after a G1 pony, and I was feeling nostalgic). That was it - just add maybe one or two G3 ponies to my beloved G1 collection. But that's not what happened. Instead, Butterscotch turned me into an all-out pony collector, and now I find all the G3s to be too irresistable.

After Butterscotch, I bought Strawberry Swirl from my local bookstore (because she reminded me of Strawberry Shortcake; I feel awful for not buying Fluttershy w/pony charm). But Butterscotch will always be a special pony to me, simply because she was my first G3, and she was the pony that made me a pony collector. :p
 
I can't remember what my first g1 was, but my first G3 was Starbeam. That's the pony that caught me. Blue. Sparkily, Stars, white hair. How could I NOT get her?

Thus (re)started the obsession.
 
My first mlp was sweet suds, and i got her in a toy store called child's world. It was great because they were clearing out all the mechandise that they didnt sell during the holidays and they had a sweeet suds in a ripped box, meaning the packaging was totally destroyed so they couldnt sell it. They saw a cute little girl leaving they store adn they gave her to me for free (she still did have her brush and hair clip and ribbon) The rest is history, i have been collecting ponies ever since, I have never stopped adn i dont think i ever will. ^.^

Among my G-1 memories.....my first pony was Hearthrob, in the summer of 1985, my sister got Firefly...we both loved pegasus ponies.....still do (*giggles)
G-3's: Sunset Sweety and Bumblesweet......they looked so much alike I just had to have what could be possibly be the first pair of G-3 sisters

So my first pony was TAF Dancing Butterflies! I got her from my mom on my 5th birthday!! I was so happy, and then i got a baby for the mommy pony :wink: Baby Sister Appledelight! Oh such a long time ago...
 
ooohh I want to share!

Mine was Baby Moondancer when I was two! I cearly remember opening her box and carefully taking her and aall of her accessories out. I couldn't get enough of her, I took her everywhere. Later somone stole her (long story) but I have a replacement now!!

Mine was Baby Tic Tac Toe and Painting Time along with the UK Schoolhouse. Best xmas ever! I was 6 I think.

Wasnt long before I had Tap Dancer, Flower Bouquet, Happy Glow, Baby Susie, Hip Hop, Good Old Peachy, Windwhistler, Bowtie and Baby Brother Paws in my collection the xmas after!
 
I think my first pony`s was Starflower and Pinwheel.
I`m not sure,but i remember i got both of them at the same time.
Now...Starflower is gone...and Pinwheel has lost her body...and her hair is short.Hehe.But i still have her head.
The other ponies i still have from my childhood,is Shady (bad haircut),NBBE Baby Ribbon (lost tail,bad bad haircut and a hole on her body)and Baby Toedancer.
 
first ponies

My first pony was FF Cotton Candy. I had my allowance to spend and was killing time waiting for my mom to get out of the bank, so I went next door to a department store called "The Met". I stood there in awe. How was I going to choose which one to buy..? I loved them all but remember not liking Minty because she was green and ponies eat green grass... didn't seem right to me. :) Mom found me standing in front of all those Moc flatfoots having a hard time making up my mind. I picked CC cuz she was the "girliest" being all pink in such. :) I came back a couple of weeks later and bought Blossom, Snuzzle, Butterscotch,and Bluebelle but these girls already had concave feet. Just 2 weeks and the flatfoots had sold out. I never did buy Minty, got her many years later in a church yard/bake sale. :)
