Before and between the holidays, what's something that makes the Fall a favorite season for so many? Are there any fun festivals you go to or activities you do with friends and/or family that makes the season fun outside of the obvious excitement of Halloween and Thanksgiving?

Once Summer's Yard Sales have come and gone, what do the more thrifty people do to look for ponies out in the wild? Are swap meets and flea markets a thing where you live?

I usually get a caramel apple around this time, but this year ima stay away cause im having like over 3k worth of work on my teeth lol

We also carve pumpkins of course, i also take pictures of my cat next to a pumpkin cause it shows her growth changes lol

We dont really have any other things we do, we used to light our firepit in the backyard

We live near the mountains (a smallerish mountain) so we like driving through and all the way to the top to look at the fall leaf colors. We hike to search for mushrooms too, a lot of cool kinds hide out in the woods if you just look! :DJust no eating them lol. We just love seeing all the different kinds!
We would usually go to the neighboring county fair for a corndog and watch the mule show. Its basically just everyone riding their mules around an arena at different paces. I love mules!! They have a horse show too the day before but I always see the mules. We havent went in a while due to world events tho. We will again eventually! ;)
Back in 2019 we discovered ghost walks! Where you got on a tour at night through cities and hear the ghost stories about the places the tour visits. Its super fun!! There was also a town street fair where there were people dressed as horror movie characters and an actual prop car from a horror movie was there! It was fun haha very spooky! I hope they do it this year! Safely of course <3 :pumpkin::orangeleaf:

I love the rain and (usually) that’s downpour time for us. :purpleheart:

I like to hike to look at leaves, and kayak. We have a state park that is nearly walking distance from our house, with a giant lake, and the view of the leaves from the water is pretty amazing. And we like to try to have a Halloween Party at the arcade with costumes, etc.

i hope we get some reasonable rain this fall. our area in montana doesn't seem to get much with what i've seen so far this summer :p i really can't wait to see the leaves change color here though!

i don't do a lot for fall other than appreciate the pretty colors and enjoy all the fall flavors. every year i do try to get some cute little pumpkins for decor though. last year i got a small pumpkin with some mini multicolored ones. i love those things!

Beautiful!

I do all the things LOL we have our state fair the end of September. I start doing more baking just in general. We are about an hour from the mountains so often we'll do a day drive out to those little towns and admire the leaves changing. Come October I host a pumpkin carving party and do some outdoor movies with our projector, a friend of mine does a witches bonfire that I go to. I'll start making dishes and doughs to freeze to get a jump on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I decorate, a lot. I love watching cute Halloween movies and putting together epic trick or treat goodie bags for the kids that come through. I gotta have a candy apple! Mostly I just enjoy the change of the season and the smell of wood burning.

Well I start listening for the sounds of fall in July, mostly the change of the bugs. Once that starts I slowly start including the Halloween decorations into our daily lives. That's when I get our towels and rugs and cooking utensils. It's so much fun! I decorate this weekend and put out the Halloween stuff. This will be my first time decorating the new house so I am really excited. Starting tomorrow! I am sad because I will not get any trick or treaters here, my old location I served hundreds of kids at my door. I decided to take the money I saved on candy and bought some more decorations. We will also go to the local apple orchard and get some fresh apples and cider. I adore this time of year and try to soak it all up!

I like to binge a lot of horror/scary content in movies, tv and video games. I am also pretty basic in that I love PSL and anything pumpkin spice flavoured. I also go apple picking because it’s the only time I can get my favourite kind of apples (Matsu) as they’re not available in stores here and only one orchard has them as most died off a few years ago in an ice storm we had here.

oh!

we cant forget looking at all the halloween decorations that i wish i could have but do not buy, lol
Also, i like to rewatch Over The Garden Wall, I do it yearly.

Put up Halloween decorations. Drink pumpkin spice and hot coco. Wear warm clothing. Pick my on pumpkin and carve it. Eat soup and chill.

I love going trick or treating, but my daughter is old enough to go with friends and naturally it's not cool to hang with me, so idk what I'm gonna do this year.

Now that I think about it, most of my fun fall activities are just leading into Halloween haha. I like to watch the fun spooky themed (but not actually scary) movies they show on Disney channel and freeform, pick out pumpkins with my mom, decorate the house (only the inside, I leave the outside for my dad to do), sketch costume ideas.
Usually (before 2020) I would spend all of September and some of October planning for Bakuretsu Con which is an anime convention I alway go to but they’ve had to cancel it again this year. Oh and there’s Inktober! I always end up not finishing the whole month, but it’s a lot of fun anyway
