You're in charge at Basic Fun or Hasbro: What G1 releases do you want?

Concept ponies like the Celestial Ponies! I really want new releases! Remaking those that have already been made in the 80s and 90s is cool, but I want some that we haven't seen before. I also want really HTF and expensive ones lol. Like Scoops and Rapunzel. Maybe Nirvana?

Pony people… I was curious how my Euro Gusty would look inverted with my custom BF one (Rusty Goldleaf) and… they switched.

All the Big Bother and Little Brothers and those Adorable Mountain Boys. Plus the Princess Ponies and colour swirl and Pony Bride. Along With the First tooth and Fancy Pants Ponies. And the Adorable family of 4
 
The pony takes characters for sure since we don’t have those here. After that, I would have to think on it.

This would be so cool!!! Omg!! Introducing new gimmicks to G1 ponies would be very neat. I think it would make new releases feel very fresh!! And there is surely new technology since G1 originally came out so the possibilities feel endless.

Introducing new ponies or gimmicks is a sure way to get people excited about new G1 ponies! I am very excited for the celestial ponies and I hope they continue to make new ponies (the pearlized ponies may also be an example of this) because I think that is what is most exciting for collectors. So if I were in charge of Basic Fun, I'd just make new ponies :rofl: My totally unrealistic vision would be to see Basic Fun make G5 ponies on G1 molds. Imagine Misty's beautiful hair on a G1 pony! Or the gradient on G5 hooves translated to G1 ponies! I think it may be a difficult task but wow, for the 40th anniversary, if they somehow made something like this, I would be ecstatic!!!

I'm not sure if you all have heard, but Basic Fun is also doing repros of Littlest Pet Shop. They showed up at an LPS convention to talk about the repros. Did Basic Fun do anything like this for MLP? The LPS repros haven't come out yet, but it sounds like Basic Fun has been very responsive to the LPS community. Maybe we need to send them this thread.. :rofl:

I could see Inverted Ponies selling really well! That could be so fun and could create such wild combinations of colors.

So many great ideas here. This makes me certain that Pony fans should be the ones running things! Or at least consulted more!

I also think it'd be cool is Hasbro or Basic Fun followed other lines like Transformers, G.I.Joe, Barbie and make higher quality versions of certain ponies. They would cost more but would be designed more thoughtfully perhaps, with added features and elements. This happened some with G4 but we need it to expand to all other generations.
 
Fun question! I love everyone's ideas! My number one want is for Basic Fun to release a Cherry Treats (an unscented version). I think the scent seems to make her prone to discoloration. I would be so thrilled if they released a retro version of her. It'd be great if they could have all of the Sweetberry ponies. I would really love for them to release any ponies that often discolor. I'd also like to see the other Twinkle Eyed ponies released, especially Galaxy and Mimic.
Twice as Fancy Ponies (Night Glider!)
Baby ponies (especially in Baby Glory's pose, like Baby Twilight and Baby Sunbeam, as someone already mentioned!)
Mountain Boys
Some alternate colors of ponies (like Blue Posey)
A few more Stranger Things ponies with black hair and upside down cutie marks, especially Confetti, Posey, or Cherry Treats or my other favorites.
Some baby ponies for ponies that did not get babies and some more twice as fancy baby ponies (Baby TAF Buttons in Baby Glory's pose, Baby Night Glider, and more), baby rainbow ponies (Baby Confetti, etc.), baby sweetberry ponies
Oh, that is a great idea about G3 designs in G1 molds too! I'd love to see some of my favorite G3s (Tropical Surprise, Sweetsong, Coconut Cream) as G1s in Posey's pose.
 
I’d definitely like to see some more of the boys :) I could be wrong but I don’t think basic fun has done any boys yet have they? They could either re release the originals, or make ones of the boys from the show who never got toys!
Also could be cool for them to do something with g2 since most didn’t even release in America. Oh! You know what I’d do actually? I’d have a box like the one they used for the new pearlized ponys but instead of 2 (and a mini) g1 ponys I would do one of each of the main gens :D so you would get a pearlized g1, g2, g3, g4 and g5 all in one cute little package. I would just have to decide which pony from each gen to do…I’m thinking Ivy from g2 and Starcatcher from g3 but idk about the rest

Man there are so many good options!

The rest of the twinkle-eyed ponies would be the most likely option I'd want them to go for next.

My dream choice would be the rest of the Pretty Mane ponies, the set that Dabble and Scribbles were going to be a part of! They already have the flutter pony poses since they showed them off a few years ago, and they've shown with the Celestials that they're willing to do unreleased ponies if people show interest, so maybe someday!
 
Oooo, such fun ideas! If I were in charge of Basic Fun, I would release a set of baby ponies next! Maybe, as others have said, adding some babies for ponies who never had them produced.

If I were Hasbro (assuming greater creative license due to owning the copyrights, etc.), I would do an "Around the World" set with some of the popular Nirvana and Euro exclusive ponies. And bring back hoof points!

I have seen on Etsy someone created a G1 laying pose for G1! It was in the style of a glow and show I think? It looked pretty authentic!

Now if I could just find the name…

I'd want g1 Villians, mr moochick, The prototype pony friend dolls, bday pony in the posey pose like the prototype, Princess ponies with their UK dragons we never got here, mlp tales ponies, maybe a around the world re release with fun colors that other countries got but not here. ( I know that would be a headache in the resale market but still fun for those of us that nirvana isn't always in the budget)

New poses are really so refreshing. Basic Fun should really consider new poses even if it’s just merging different heads and bodies but so they fit, not look weird
