Action Hank's Crappy Art Thread

Hopefully people can decipher this mess into something that makes since, if people have trouble I can try to figure out how to get a screen shot.

You have way (I mean way) underestimated my knowledge base with computer skills and video games o_O

I don't know what to do with the codes so I will have to take your word for it. Plus I don't even have a PC. I did see a YouTube trailer for the new movie coming out. Looks like it might be good.

Is there anything I can explain to help?

That big block of grey with text in is the map it makes an image, unless it is broken for non PC users. I'll try to figure out a screen shot when I wake up, hopefully that'll be easier to see.

Also making the map was the easy part, making it spawn in the world was slightly harder, then the most difficult part was making items spawn inside since I need to tell each item group where they need to spawn in a 24X48 coordinate grid. And the same will go for the monsters when I make them.

Here's the screen shot of the building in game, hopefully it is easier to see what it is. (The blue highlites represent items in that location.)

Also since I have it here's a uncropped version of the image so you guys can see what the game looks like.
(You can't usually see this much at a time, I did some DBUG stuff to take the screen shot.)

Thanks for sharing!! That is very impressive! Is this mods to just change how the rooms look or is it interaction with the characters too? I don't know anything about mods, just watching people play them on YouTube.

The mod adds the building shown to a list of other buildings that can appear in the game world, which means that it can be found randomly as you explore the world. Which may or may not be a good thing depending on how your character is doing.

As far as interactions between the animatronics and your character goes, they are hostile towards you and any companions you bring with you, and you can choose to ether run away from them or you could choose to engage them in combat of ether ranged or melee variety.

And if your character leaves this fight victorious than you can loot the now dead animatronic for some clothing, potentially an instrument, and the corpse can be dissembled for parts, as soon as I add that stuff to the game.

As it stands right now I can't find a way to make them non-hostile if you wear certain items.

That sounds really cool! I like that you can dismantle it and reuse it. If you ever play it and have screen shot of the play I would like to see your creativity.

I do have plans further down the line to make it to where you can take the defeated animatronic and fix it and have it be friendly towards you and have it fight on your side but it'd be more like an animal than a person. Even further down the line if I can figure it out I might try to make it to where you could fix them into a fancier version and have them be like an NPC, but I'm not 100% sure if that can be accomplished.

I might also add a way to hack them with a laptop and make them friendly towards you that way.

If you ever play it and have screen shot of the play I would like to see your creativity.
You mean like a let's play but with screen shots and text? Not sure if that'd be allowed here do to the nature of the game.

I've decided to add a rare variant of the building that has the original FNAF characters in it rather than some randomly picked robots.

And once that's done we'll be able to find out if the average apocalypse survivor can win when faced with Freddy and friends. My hypothesis is that it will go poorly for the survivor when facing all four of them.

Hypothesis correct, my poor test character didn't stand a chance and he only fought Foxy, using only a tire iron he barely did any damage to Foxy . I have a feeling that the test character would have been killed almost instantly if he'd fought the whole gang at once, part of me says I should nurf him but as he stands right now his attacks are in line with what they're like in FNAF so I might just leave him the way he is.

So today we learned that you don't try to attack the angry robot that wants to eat your face with a tire iron, next few tests will involve better weapons.

FOR SCIENCE!

That's one kick butt lab rat Hank.

Turns out skill really matters when it comes to fighting these guys.

Test guy with no rifle skill took seven shots to kill foxy with a rifle, while the same guy with max level in rifle skill killed foxy in just two shots.
Test guy with no melee skill and an axe died, the same guy with max melee skill and an axe killed foxy pretty quickly but was injured in the process.

But you guys might be wondering what the fabulous prize you get for being able to kill foxy is, why I'll tell you what it is, it is the most exciting thing in the whole game, a single raw potato! Yes upon killing foxy you get a victory potato and his corpse but that's not as interesting as the potato of vicory!

(The victory potato might have been added to test death drops since I needed him to drop something and had to come up with something since he isn't really associated with a particular item, which he will continue to drop when killed because I don't really feel like removing the ALL IMPORTANT VICTORY POTATO.)

And thus ends the balance testing portion of this and I stamp it with the close enough stamp and move on to adding the rest of the gang,

A new but not unexpected discovery was made during the testing of Bonnie, and that was that melee is the worst way to fight these guys and ranged is the best way, they attack way to fast and hit way to hard to make melee worth the risk and it'd be better to get the attention of the zombies than die to these things.

I'm now working on Chica and will then make Freddy and we'll have the entire crew and I can move onto the randos that can show up.

Freddy and Chica are done, and with that FNAF 1 is finished and I can move onto adding rando animatronics to spawn in the regular version of the map. Or making a map to represent the second game.

Also learned things, such as shooting them point blank with a grenade launcher kills you and the animatronic, linoleum doesn't burn and neither do the animatronics, and finally fighting them three at a time is a death sentence even with a gun.

Instead of doing the easy thing I've decided to make the map from the second game, this was mostly because I've already got a base for the characters from that game, I have decided thought to skip the withered animatronics because the place will already be a death trap without them.

Also looking through the files of the original mod it seems to have been based off the second game but the building was from the first, so I'm not really sure what was going on in that thought process.

I'm still working on that mod and so far all I have is the lay out of the building from the second game with some added rooms that weren't in the game.

Only paused working on this because I needed to work on my Youtube channel archive which currently stands at 765 channels, and there are probably at least a thousand that are waiting to be archived.

Anyone have any comments or questions about any of this stuff?

I am following because I like hearing about the mod. It facinates me because I don't know how you achieve this. We are really enjoying the books and he just literally got the games his month for his birthday. One through 4 on switch and security breach on Xbox. It's just interesting to me.

Turns out it's harder than I originally thought because the documentation on how it's supposed to work isn't as well written as they'd like you to think, but despite that I've figured out most of it. If you want I could show off one of the files so you can see just how much stuff I've had to mess with to get this thing to work since I've pretty much had to start over with the mod since all the original stuff was so out of date that I've had to redo most of it.

Turns out this is a lie and I'm gonna make them all! Let the place be a mosh pit of doom!

Just realized that I've yet test to see what happens when you hit one with a car.

Hello again I have returned after over a month of working on a porject to preserver bits of the other forum I'm on, so I'm gonna go back to my video project for a bit then come back to the mod and at some point the animation thing.

Just realized that I've yet test to see what happens when you hit one with a car.
Turns out they die, and you can kill the entire band with one bus if you smack them at 100MPH, but this killed the bus.

Also if you try to face off against the over 5,000 strong army of Chicas as you can't blow them up fast enough even with a rocket launcher.

I have returned to say that I have yet to work on this project even after all this time despite wanting to, because I've decided that I shall download the entire internet by downloading several thousand videos and shall probably be doing that for the rest of the year, then I shall probably feel like I can get back to work on my art thing.

Maybe I should spend some of my free time on art rather than only working to download the entire internet.
