@Tak, Wait, so on Saturday that gorgeous pony had no hair, and by Tuesday it was fully complete?! Are you made of magic?! Lol! I have had the same custom on my dining room end table for nine months and still there is no mane. Please snap your fingers in the direction of my house, so I can maybe find some of that motivation!!

@Lilykin that liquid fusion looks great, but I think I need that rehair tool from the video. I've done all my rehairs with a needle and dental floss.....could be that is not the most effective method ever...
I've never tried the sew method but there are plenty of folks who prefer it. Rehair tools are super easy to make tho! If you use this method make sure you cut away from your face and use safety glasses. I usually cut the needle inside a trashcan so that the metal bit doesn't end up where it shouldn't. Also recommend doing several at once. They end up bending or breaking eventually, especially in the beginning lol.

So prettyyy!!! :happyhearts:
Thank you! It’s a quarter horse Appaloosa gelding I had when I was 11. :twohearts:

Very classy. Name?
My horse was named ‘Top Hand’s Handsome Man’ and we called him ’Handyman’, so I think her name is ‘Handmaiden’.

Any suggestions?

I’m disabled, so have more free time than average. Plus now stress fractures and a boot = quality couch time. I really like rehairing. It’s relaxing and I’m generally watching tv in the background. I definitely recommend a rehairing tool. I spent quite a bit of time with embroidery as a kid, ribbon, cross stitch, hand quilting, and free hand, the tool is pretty easy to use and so much easier on your hands.

@Lilykin I’m still deciding. I think that liquid looks great, but I always need to ponder a bit before purchasing. (How much I’ll use it mostly ;) ) E has air dry clay on hand… I’m also debating if I should just restore the original color hair, or do an alternate since her value is already so diminished as far as her ever leaving my herd. I’m planning to keep her, but always trying to keep track for when E gets to keep them all.

Oh wow, the mane and tail look simply gorgeous! Did the hair come pre curled, or was the styling all you? It looks amazing either way! :ponylove:
Thank you! I did the curls. Dolly hair is super easy to get into curls with water, straws, and a few styling clips. I think it’s much easier than styling original hair. I love curly hair.:ponylove:

So beautiful! Is this based on one of your horses?
Yes… one of the last I had. He was such a great horse. :twohearts: He was the only one in my 4-H group that would step on a fake bridge (picture a basic wood plank bridge with a low wooden rail wide enough for a car, about ten feet long, only four inches off the ground.) without me dismounting. I’ll try to find a picture. Bit limited by the boot and this whole ‘no bearing weight unless absolutely necessary’.

That's so sweet- making a horse you used to have. Maybe I'll try to reinterpret my childhood dog into a pony. He was an Australian cattle dog, so he loved horses...but they hated him.

I did fix her head first. I ended up going a rather odd route. I didn’t want to order the fusion online for one project and the clay was a no go. I ended up using the dreaded super glue. We got a drywall mesh patch and I glued it to the inside of her head. It actually worked very well. I’ll be interested to see how she ages. She’s staying with me so it’s not too big of an issue. I used kiss of death and caramel dolly hair, too, so it’s hard to see, but it’s actually a very, very, dark, shimmery, purple and the brown.
