I forgot about the costume contest but am very excited to see it's back! Is the ghost guessing game returning as well, @Gingerbread?

Depends if the gusty autumn winds drift in the correct directions to allow spectres to float among us.I forgot about the costume contest but am very excited to see it's back! Is the ghost guessing game returning as well, @Gingerbread?
Helping welcome new members in the introduction forum will up your count. How do you get your message count up? Just joined but would love to take part. Thank you
i think what matters most is the costume itself- ive seen costume photos without much of a background/scene to accompany them. its not required but it could make your entry look nicer its just up to youI’ve already entered mine- hope it’s accepted!
Oh, wait, am I supposed to put it in a scene? I didn't do that. @Gingerbread if I have to put it in a scene, let me know and I'll retake photos?

How about you send the reference pic separate and I can place it beneath your entry. Although I do title the pics for voting, example; "Gingerbread as Bride of Frankenstein" so it will be named but if it's really obscure a reference pic would be fine.just wondering- if we add an image next to our costume submission just to show what the costumes based off of (since i dont think many would recognize mine), would that count against rule 4? its not cropping or resizing or any other form of major editing, just layering an image on top of the costume image for comparison. if that counts against it i understand
Entirely up to you, either way is acceptedOh, wait, am I supposed to put it in a scene?
sounds like a plan! thanks for clearing that upHow about you send the reference pic separate and I can place it beneath your entry. Although I do title the pics for voting, example; "Gingerbread as Bride of Frankenstein" so it will be named but if it's really obscure a reference pic would be fine.
It needs to be a pony in a costume, not a custom Halloween themed pony. You can see year’s previous entries for examples on the main post for the contest.I have a Halloweeny custom in progress. Would that be outside the spirit of the contest? Should it be strictly an outfit without factoring in stuff like repaint/rehair?
you and me both, dont worry! im sure youtube has a few tutorials if you search "DIY hat/clothes/accessories for my little pony". they start out with super basic materials and tools but really you can use whatever you want/have to make whatever you need. get crafty! craft ribbon, craft glitter, glue, old fabric/old clothing that you dont want or wear anymore (i.e. socks), paper, clay, paint, beads, felt.. the choices are endless. for me its been really experimental and sometimes you'll need to use alternative materials but find out what works for youIf I may ask, is there any good resources for making pony-sized costumes? I'm very new to this and can use all the help I can get
Don't forget you can use yarn! it's my favorite medium! If I may ask, are there any good resources for making pony-sized costumes? I'm very new to this and can use all the help I can get
