wow...oh boy.. oh dear.... the actual toy look of them........ well i confess i will need to buy the fluttershy ones "if" they make any. if not i will need to buy at least 1 just to have a sample for the continuation of the my little pony line

I'm afraid I like the animation even less. This doesn't look like MLP, it looks like Disney. That doesn't mean it can't be enjoyable, though. I do plan to watch it, of course.

The toys... Oh, the toys. I'm mixed, you all. Like they have some really good traits. The whole being taller (and hopefully larger) thing is great, plus they have some really cute accessories and manes.

But...the heads. They're so round, they're so flat. They look weird. I'm sad. I do think as long as I display them purely from the side I might be able to get over some of it and like them.

The toys look as if I’ll find them in the pound shop... I don’t like them very much and I hope there are more decent ones coming up. Maybe some figures?

Now I’ve seen them animated I’m not sure what I think. Maybe I’ll get used to it like I got used to G4
I still want to give the film a go though

Also, the colt
Are we maybe getting more of a male main character with the other ponies?

EDIT:
Why do they look better as stills than moving to me?
Another image just dropped:

Not really feeling the human lips...

Don't like the human faces, or the boots. I guess its too much to ask for a brand called My Little Pony to have ponies. It also reminds me of a doll line that had colorful horses. But I can't remember what?

I was thinking the same thing and it hit me suddenly now, they look like the Shopkins Happy Places horses:

Oh, that's it! You nailed it.
It literally hit me as I read your post, it was bothering me why I couldn't think of it lol. The one thing I will give Hasbro is that it looks like the new ponies have beautifully rooted (and possibly more) hair. Which is something I have always loved about MLP, brushing, combing and styling hair.

Except for the boy. *sigh*

Poo! The pic and gif I downloaded are too big. There's a minty green pegasus.

The colt looks like a bit of a flirt in the animation, and I feel like he's either Sunny's brother or love interest. Very different things I know but I can't decide on which one.

I'm trying (and failing) to withhold toy judgement until we see more brushables, but right now something about it is throwing me off. I like how it kinda looks like a chubbier G2 but something about the head is off. Right now I think the Shopkins posted here did this look better. The pic of brushable Sunny looks best from the side at the moment. I love how much hair it looks like the brushable has, I hope the hair isn't as cheap as later G4s. So yeah mixed feelings right now, but most importantly I hope kids will like them tho. Also, never been a fan of the articulated ponies but as always they're just being released along with the brushables so it doesn't really matter, people who like 'em get to have them.

I actually really like the design of the colt character in the animated sneak peak. But I do wish the toys were a bit chunkier (though they are bigger than before, which is nice).

I'm not sure if I want to actively collect these, or just pick them up if I find them at thrift stores.

Hnnnnnghhhghghgh I have so many feelings. I adore the animation, it looks super cute and expressive. But the brushable that they're showing us just has such weird proportions. I'm all for the taller, more G2-looking vibe but the shapes just look kind of bizarre. Maybe I'll like it better in person, idk. But I'm HYPED for the movie and series either way! And I love this period of time right before the launch of a new generation, with all the anticipation.

Umm.... I’m having a really bad week and, looking at this thread has me in tears. I come from a generation where ponies live in the show stable in a magical land called dream valley and the plots have absolutely no depth. I miss my fantasy world. I love that there’s more boys and the markings, colors, and non traditional roles. I just wish they were still ponies, no just people shaped like ponies. I’m an actual horse lover. I got a real pony. I learned how to tool leather and I even still own a folding hoofpick that fits in your back pocket of your wrangler’s jeans when you ride. I even pretended to be a pony myself and had several encyclopedias about horses. So, yeah.:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

Look on the bright side tik-tak, this means more money to spend on older gen ponies.
I’m only focused on the older ones anyway. E has no interest anymore. She’s 11 going on 16. sh has no interest in Disney animated movies or and Disney-esque tv shows. Even my nephew would turn away. Maybe, just maybe, if there’s a purple one... especially plush...

Could make cross gen or fakie customs too. For those who like the colors, but not the creepy faces. The neck is too thin and straight, nothing connects right. Even standing and alert, a horse does not have its neck straight up and down. Looks like they stuck a head on a finger.
