As the first day of November approaches, I like to try and be more intentional with an attitude of thankfulness and gratitude. I invite you all to join me in posting once a day something you are thankful for. Small or great, taking stock of the things in your life that bring you joy, satisfaction, and gratitude can be a great way to shift your perspective.

Gratitude
by Edgar Albert Guest

Be grateful for the kindly friends that walk along your way,
Be grateful for the skies of blue that smile from day to day,
Be grateful for the health you own, the work you find to do,
For round about you there are men less fortunate than you.

Be grateful for the growing trees, the roses soon to bloom,
The tenderness of kindly hearts that shared your days of gloom,
Be grateful for the morning dew, the grass beneath your feet,
The soft caresses of your babes and all their laughter sweet.

Acquire the grateful habit, learn to see how blessed you are,
How much there is to gladden life, how little life to mar!
And what if rain shall fall to-day and you with grief are sad,
Be grateful that you can recall the joys that you have had.

So what makes you thankful today?

November 1 - This morning I am thankful for my creaky, achy body because, while it is uncomfortable, I am able to move it. I am thankful for the many years of dance teaching it has gotten me through. And those aches and creaks are reminding me to take better care of it so that I have many more years of dance teaching to come. Thank you body for not giving out (completely) on me yet!

I’m thankful for my fuzzy little babies who lovingly put up with all the silly costumes I put them in and all the pics I take ^_^

(Can I be thankful for coffee again...?)

Today I am thankful for my husband. This week he randomly put a kitty door in our laundry room door to keep the German Shepherd out of the litter box.

And he also constructed a catio for the cats to use, once we figure out the window connection situation.

(Of course these aren't the only reasons I'm thankful for him. Just the instances this week that reminded me to be thankful for him.)

Today I am grateful that it's Saturday! (And the small ant invasion happening in the master bedroom and bathroom is happening now and not yesterday so that I actually have time to clean them up and set bait stations. It's the small things. In this case the hundreds of very tiny... things...)

Today I cleaned my rat cages and I'm grateful for my sweet little buddies who live in there- Wesley, Rusty, Buster, Porkchop, Tito, Frank, Gus, Dolly, Ziggy Piggy, Joule, and even mean old Ladybird who is a crank but who has the softest fur in the world. They bring me joy and smiles every day with their antics, their kisses, and how they are always happy to see me come into the room!

I’m thankful for my friends (online and real life) as they continue to help me and support me. Today I’m very thanksgiving for my animal babies as they keep me company and provide hours of entertainment.IMG_8939.jpeg

Today I'm thankful for my boss! Rarely have I had a manager who will go as far as she will to support her team. She is ace at making schedules and always knows what to say and how to fix a situation. I honestly don't know how she does it and also manages being a mom and supporting her husband's business. Yay for good bosses!
