November Thankfulness Thread

Today I’m thankful for my brother letting me use his saw ^_^ he normally doesn’t let anyone touch his tools so I asked him if he’d be able to cut something for me and he was like, go ahead make sure you wear safety goggles :) it was nice of him and I got to get started on my big advent calendar project

Today I am thankful for my kitties. For years i was not allowed to have any, but now i have three lol - i love them all and their individual personalities.

This is going to sound super cheesy, but I'm really thankful to be here. I've had a lot of fun getting to know everyone better and participating in these events. I actually pulled away from my blood family a while back because of the toxic nature of the environment. Sometimes I get lonely around the holidays (even though I can say I've made some really good friends RL too), and I feel less alone here. It's nice doing the swaps and taking part of stuff here. I feel more involved in a community and less alone.

That doesn’t sound cheesy at all to me :happyhearts: I became active on here in 2020 for a similar reason (the feeling of community not the toxic family part) so I totally get it, this is a great place that’s not like anywhere else on the internet that I’ve seen

Today I'm thankful for this morning's devotional about the Fruits of the Spirit. I have had to use patience several times already... Lol. But really. Glad that life is teaching me to be patient today and that I have people in my life that are flexible with unexpected changes to the plans of the day.

Today I am thankful for what little friends i have, i have 1 friend in "real life" and i wouldnt trade her for nothing! and to all my online friends that i never get to meet, i love yall too, and my online friends who i have gotten to meet, i love yall as well ♥ im thankful for you all ♥

Today's thankfulness is brought to you by all the nice people I navigated the grocery store with today. Shopping the week of Thanksgiving can be a pain, with everyone purchasing the same stuff and, at the same time, etc. I had been planning to shop last night, but the car and tow truck fiasco made me not want to...

So, off to WinCo I headed around noon today, fully expecting a tornado of shoppers and half the items I needed being out of stock. I plastered a big smile on my face, fully intending to kill everyone with kindness.

But, while semi-busy, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Everyone responded so positively to my over enthusiastic "excuse me's" and "may a squeeze past you's" and I even struck up a conversation with the folks blocking the dairy aisle when they asked what I was making that had me grabbing three bottles of heavy whipping cream! :lolpony::lolpony::lolpony:

:surprisepony:

What?! You don't use the good stuff in your recipes? Lol

So, I'm thankful for random strangers who responded kindly to my joyful romp through the store. (And for "free turkey" with purchase!)

AND the only thing on my list I couldn't find was sparkling cider! So I think that was pretty successful.

Did you find regular cider? I have a friend who mixed a little Sierra Mist into apple cider to make sparkling cider for a birthday party one time and it tasted pretty good (I’ve never had regular sparkling cider before though so I can’t compare)
That’s cool that you found everything else you needed though ^_^
we still need to get some fruit and walnuts here

Today I am thankful that i went to the store yesterday to get all my thanksgiving goods and the store was EMPTY! and they had plenty of rations of what i needed - so others can get what they need aswell ♥ i went to the smaller grocery store instead of walmart, i went to walmart to pick up prescriptions and oh my goodness, there was no parking spots or buggies lol it was insane - good thing i only had to get foil pans and tiny cupcakes from there or i woulda had a breakdown lol - but over all, i am thankful for smaller grocery stores lol

Totally true, I love how helpful and kind everyone is here to each other! It’s a nice warm feeling.

Today I'm thankful for premonitions that kept me from getting in the car with the hubby and then turning my ringer on so I would hear if he called. Loe and behold! He only made it five miles before the transmission had trouble. Thankful he pulled over in a place with cell signal (always spotty out here) and was able to call a tow and me to come get him.

When this originally posted, I didn't see it, but I would have struggled to answer at the beginning of the month. At the beginning of the month all we knew was that my husband had to have a large tumor removed and they were detecting cancer in his bloodwork. After the surgery, they sent the tumor to be tested and just last week we finally got a firm answer of what his situation is: the cancer did spread, but only to a single lymph node in his back. They feel a single radiation treatment will conquer it.

At the beginning of the month my grandma was still in the hospital from her stroke. After a week there and a week in a rehab facility, she has now been home for 2 weeks. The family is still all spending as much time at her house as possible, since it is dangerous for her to go up and down the steps by herself, but she is walking and talking and eating (with assistance) again. She has a long way to go, but she progressing.

I have a LOT to be thankful for on the family's health fronts. Now that I can breathe again, it is much easier to be thankful for the little things like good weather, a new and more secure chicken coop so the raccoons can't eat my chickens, a successful Thanksgiving dinner, the kids are safe and learning how to be adults (the hard way, but who doesn't learn it that same way?) ...

I'm thankful for the toy collecting/MLP communities, including the Trading Post and Arena. Folks on the Arena know my personal issues (oof--I feel like sometimes you're all my part-time counselors! ) and getting new pony mail, reading others' posts here, and getting shout-outs from Instagram friends definitely has turned my sour week/weekend around. I'm thankful that at least the food was good at Thanksgiving dinner. And that I managed to decorate my entire apartment this holiday weekend for Christmas, including my pony closet. <3

A little bit of kindness from strangers and friends that share hobbies goes such a long way. <3 Thank you <3

Today I'm thankful for getting most of my Christmas decorating done! I only have one box of décor left and the big box of lights and inflatables that go outside. I got the lights on the roof (super easy because we have a Santa Fe style home with a flat roof), the village is set up, the nutcrackers are out, the nativity is set, the tree is ups, the stockings are hung... (We don't have a chimney, but you get the idea :winkpony: )

I still need to put the ornaments on the tree, but I can do that slowly over this upcoming week. I am so thankful to have the bulk of it done before going back to work tomorrow!
