Pony plush appreciation thread

Hello everyone,

Over the years, many pony plushies in all shapes and sizes have been made.

It's a know fact that the g1 plushies are very popular. I've heard good things about the giant g3 plushies as well.

I though, let's make a thread where we can discuss plushies.

Which generation/brands do you like? Where do you get your plushies? Do you maybe sew yourself, or have a custom plush?

I'm currently really into build a bear g4 mlp fim plushies. They are a bit big, but perfect huggable size. I recently got Trixie, Twilight with dress and Applejack with dress. I like to find them locally or on tinted. I'm trying to get all for a reasonable price, though populair ones like Tempest shadow, Muffins pony and Minty cost a lot more. I'm in no hurry though.

I also saw a giant g3 plush on a flea market kind of place. I didn't buy her because I'm not into g3 and I biked to there. Thinking about it, I might have sold her of for some extra cash but that was about two years ago.

Let me know your thoughts on plushies.

I like the G1 plushies and have most of them except for the Applause ones. I haven't gotten any of those and haven't decided if I want to. I just don't think they are as cute looking but maybe they will grow on me one day. It doesn't help that they are usually more expensive and harder to find. I have 1 UK pajama case, not sure if that counts, I have the Trickles cause I thought she was the prettiest. I wouldn't mind getting the others but the pony room is getting pretty packed so I really have to pick and choose favorites to start. I have 1 G3 plush, I'm mainly a G1 collector but there was a G3 Cheerilee that I thought was adorable, she looks kinda pieced together with different fabrics and yarn hair.
I do have a custom made plush Gingerbread that I got at a meet, she's beautiful! And I'm still kicking myself for not picking up a bushwoolie from one of the pony fairs years back. Someone was making/selling them and I didn't bother at the time but wish I would've gotten one, I think that would be cute in the pony room.

Bushwoolies!!! I would find a way to buy them as plushies! I like the g1 plushies, but decided not to include them in my collection. I had to put a cap on my wishlist. My daughter loves g3 plushies and would adore one of the giant ones. We also have a 14” twilight plushy that she picked out when she was two and it went everywhere with us for a while, so she’s special. She’s not a princess twilight, either, which I really like. I also have a little clip twilight that used to be on my purse. Her seams gave out and I had to give her urgent head surgery, so she’s staying home now, too. Then there’s spike. I have a few g4 spike plushies. I love spike.

I'll have to dig out all my custom plushies that have been made for me. I love my Hasbro ones but the customs are just so special.

I love the g3 plushies, I had the pinkie pie one with yarn hair as a kid. I really want to get her again some time soon
I also have two g1 plushies, posey and cotton candy.

The giant g3 plushies are my favorites. G3 in general had some great plushies! I have giants of minty, sweetberry, frilly frocks, and wysteria! Im dying to get my hands on a giant rainbow dash though. I also love the 4th dimension entertainment plushies for g4. Super high quality and good looking plushies that rival custom made quality but for only $25? So awesome!

I have most of the G4 Walmart plushes, I keep them on top of the cupboard thing in my room.

My sister has a few G4 Build-a-Bears. I remember when she got her first one. It was years ago. I was on a sleepover with a friend and apparently, my dad took my sister to Build-a-Bear and she got a Twilight Sparkle. It's sweet, she thought of me and got me a Spike to go with her. He's super cute. Over the years she ended up getting a Pinkie Pie and Zecora too, they're all really nice. As for me, other than the Spike I only have an Aurora Starlight Glimmer. And, well, I didn't know this at the time, but I have two more plushies that are bootlegs of fan designs. They were sold at this Japanese import store I liked going to. I figured they were unlicensed but I didn't realize the designs themselves were directly stolen from independent fan artists. In hindsight, it was kind of obvious. Wouldn't have gotten them nowadays because of that but I won't get rid of the ones I have since what's done is done. It's a Derpy Hooves and Lightning Dust. They sit on my dresser next to Starlight with Spike on top of them.

Er, sorry I went on a tangent. Anyway, I love G4 pony plushies and my current pony quest is to find and own the 8" Intek plushies, especially Fluttershy. Look how dopey she looks!

I admit, I prefer the G1s to all plushies, but do dearly love the G3s, especially the Minty with a Santa hat and the patchwork Pinkie Pie. The Build a Bear G4s are really lovely, but they take up so much space. Right now I have pretty much all my plushes in boxes. Although I do have the 25th Anniversary Pinkie Pie plush sitting on the back of the sofa, so she's right behind me, watching me type. I best not say anything bad about her, she could clock me and steal the car...

I had one of the G3 babies as a kid, it's probably my favorite picture from my childhood. I also like the lumpy looking G4 plushies, I have a Rarity that I found at a thrift store ($2!!!). I also have a beanie baby Pinkie Pie. I love MLP plushies they're very cute.

raises a hand? I do like making plushies by hand. I know it takes longer but something about taking the time to make something special is fine with me. I also have some G1 softie plushies to grab on my want list. Maybe this will be the year of the super plushie for me.
I have a nice G1 plushie collection now. I also have a few hand made custom plushies of Surprise. I didnt like the Applause plushies but I wouldnt turn them away if I found them. I feel though like they dont get much love. :/ Everyone wants the softie ponies plushies.

I was just looking as some of the G1 plushies last night and thought about getting them and researching some ones in other gens! The only good sized ones I have at the moment are the Build-a-Bear Celestia and Fluttershy! And would love to get a custom one of my ponysona one day!

I love plushies but I’ve always found the official plushies I’ve come across in person to mainly look... not that great. I’ve seen so many fanmade G4 style ponies online that look absolutely amazing in all sizes.

I have my G3 Baby Sweet Steps who I turned into a plush and I used to have Baby Tripsy Daisy. I don’t know what happened to her though...

As for G4, I have a Ty Rainbow Dash. I’ve never been a fan of Ty Beanie Baby crossovers but she was a birthday present years ago and I love her anyway.
I stopped collecting Build-a-Bears long before it started to get even more crossovers to the point they have as many as they do now. Never been a fan of their crossovers either but when I saw they started doing MLP I was really surprised and immediately questioned if it was a good idea for them to have brushable manes and tails like the Ty ones (it seems like a nightmare to keep it good) but I was even more surprised when I saw MINTY IN G4 FORM as a BAB because at the time I saw this, I hadn’t seen a G4 Minty, let alone her being very close to the G3 Minty look who is one of my favourites. BAB take up a lot of room and I have a lovely collection of 20+ of them but sadly all but two are in storage now so I wouldn’t be able to have another. I see them (the MLP BAB) in charity shops a lot and it’s a little saddening because of the BAB experience (stuff them, give them a heart, say the promise). I could go on about BAB but this is already long enough. I’m rambling.

Basically, plushies are a yes from me.

I have a giant plush with a wire frame of G3 Sparkleworks.
I also have 4 Luna plushies: A knitted S1 one, the larger S1 Aurora one, a fakie one, the little MLP movie keychain one, and the brushable TY.
I would like to get the build a bear Minty...

I desperately want to find a crochet pattern for G1 ponies. I've seen patterns for G4, but I'm not so keen on them. I may have to attempt to write my own one day.

I have... plushies everywhere. Just randomly throughout the house. It's a certifiable disaster area, I know. All gens, but G1 and G3 are my faves. I just picked up this gal last weekend. A Facebook Marketplace find for $5.

I love the giant G3 plushies, but I own none of them. (Missed the window on super-cheap shipping for Frilly Frocks.) I have an extra special set of G3 small claw machine plushies that my husband (then-boyfriend) spent about $50 to win. And I have many of the early G4 Funrise plushies and some Build-a-Bear ones that I've thrifted. Like, I said, they're all over the place, so I can't share pics right now.

I have a purple bushwoolie! IvyMLP made them. I also have a purple parasprite, but I cannot remember who made them. She vended across the aisle from me in Indianapolis.

Excuse me while I drool over that Glory and your awesome luck with her. She’s a grail pony plush of mine, I love the Applause ones the most.

I am mainly a G1 plush kinda gal. But because plush are so large I’ve limited myself to ones that I really really like.

So, I have a few Hasbro Softies and then I have G4’s that I adore. Mostly just Pinkie & Fluttershy because they’re my top two G4’s gals, but I also love Spike (all gens) Starlight Glimmer, Trixie & Sunset Shimmer. I’m only missing Sunset and Trixie of the BAB releases. I’m cheap and refuse to pay too much for a large G4 BAB plushie lol. I typically wait for them to come up in local posts and in good/new condition.
