Unpopular Pony Opinions

That unicorn is, so, so cool.

Here's a bit of a weird opinion: Baby Blossom Pose looks a bit painful. I mean, can you imagine the pony walking around with their heads at that angle? After a while, it must really hurt.

I don't know if this is actually unpopular but I hate most G1 pegasi, their wings look like seashells it's so ugly. The swirly G3 wings are my favorite, they look angelic <3

I once saw someone describe G1 Pegasi wings as “a bunch of sausages layered on each other.”

I personally don't mind the shape of the G1 wings. What bothers me about them is that, in some poses, the wings appear to be coming out of their legs. I do agree that G3 wings are very lovely! I've seen a lot of people complain about them being too tiny.

I always thought the G1 wings looked like corn on the cob. This was reinforced when I got Dancing Butterflies for Easter as a kid. I don't mind them though, I just think they're kinda funny.

I don't mind the G1 pegasi wings, probably because they're what I grew up with, though I agree they're not the best design-wise and they certainly couldn't fly with those. I do love the G3 swirly wings though. And I find the G4 wings pretty cute. They're also the easiest to draw for me.

I dislike the rollerskate ponies and the soda sippin ponies, they just seem so gimmicky and unattractive to me.

The sexual dimorphism displayed by the g4 ponies is really dumb.

Girl = Round head and tiny nose + eyelashes
Boy = BRICK HEAD + no eyelashes

Granted, later in the series there are more varied body types but the general rule is girls have tiny chihuahua snouts and boys have block heads.

Earlier gens did it much better. Even though the boys in G1 were visibly different with the feathered hooves and being slightly larger, they still had the same general body shape and hey, they even had EYELASHES. G2 did the boy ponies best, imo: they were identical to the girls. Eyelashes and all, the only indicator being what it says on the package. IRL horses don't have radical differences between the sexes, save for the most obvious. Unless you're a horse person and know what to look for aside from those particular details, there's really not a huge difference.

no because you're so right- i find it funny G3 is the only gen to not canonically have any male ponies

idk there's certain textures i really don't like for some reason i dislike how most g1 have glitter symbols not to mention anypony that has flocking and glitter on it or in it, i fell split on 4.5 i love the angular style and big eyes but i think the head is a bit too big not to mention i dislike the extended leg pose

Growing up, I thought most ponies were boys. Some I was sure were girls like most flower themed ones and the obvious one like the Bride pony but to this day, I see most G1 ponies as boys. I think this happened because I paid no attention to official material but be it as it may, I never had any doubts as to which ponies were girls even though looking back, I have no idea how I reached my conclusions. Baby Diamond was a girl; Baby Nightsong was a boy, why? No idea. It wasn't the jewelry theme either as Baby Ruby was a boy in my mind. It wasn't the coloring as traditionally feminine colors also slanted male, Baby Moondancer was a boy to me and to this day I cannot think of them in any other way.

To this day, I find it very difficult to mention to them as "she" even when I know they are girls canonically. So I often default to "they".

Pity that translated to G5 ponies. Boys have blockier heads and plastic hair. -_-
