So, I've been on this site for a year now (June 4th, 2022).
I took a peek at my first thread.

New here

Hi all I found some G1 ponies at a thrift store today. It rekindled my love for these guys. So I go into my basement and hauled up my bin of G1 ponies I had since I was a kid. I fell down the rabbit hole of cleaning and sorting. Oi. I have 48 ponies not including doubles and some damaged ones...

I am quite... embarrassed... to see how much my collection had grown in 1 year. I have well over 200 ponies now. o_O But no regrets. Along with my collection, I've made some awesome friends here with common interest, and that's what makes it all special. I've learned a lot, this site helped sparked my creativity in customs and help me discover my love of restoring!

So now, I want to see your very first post on this site, so we can laugh and cry together :D

I signed up on the 16th whilst in my loft sorting out stuff, including coming across Baby Sweet Steps, and was at a complete loss when I was researching restoration techniques. Whilst making collection zines for my collection, this site had become one of the most helpful places during my research but the thing is… any sort of Internet interaction scares me a lot. I had plucked up some amount of courage to even make the account, let alone make an introduction thread but as I can see, I was too shy to answer anyone on it! It took a couple of days for my confirmation email to come through too.
This will be my third year here and it’s been so kind and welcoming the entire time. I am comfortable here. Internet still scares me but I’m able to interact more here :Flutter4:

EDIT: Oh look, next week is my third year anniversary

Here's mine. I just jumped right in not really knowing this world existed but I quickly felt right at home.

It wasn't long before @Tak welcomed me in by sending my son a huge lot of G4 figures as a RAOPK and he still has them. It was such a nice gesture and I knew I was with good pony peeps. I also turned right around and sold some of my MOC ponies not really knowing what I had. I got a lot of guidance from folks and they helped me understand the value of what I had. It'll be 3 years for me on June 10th!

I think my intro must have vanished with the .com site. The strange thing is, I thought for sure I was active here up until 2007 when I went away to college and took a long hiatus, but I don't seem to have any posts in my history earlier than 2012 and it says my .net account was made in 2010? It's a mystery!

I'm kind of glad because I'm sure the intro from my 13 year old self was quite embarrassing!

I am pretty sure I was signed up on the original .com site back when it was first a thing. I remember the Trading Post and the Arena each having reputations for the kind of interactions that were permitted there, and I think the Arena was named that because people wanted to have a place where they could do their Flame Wars?? :rofl: IIRC, the Trading Post had cracked down on that sort of thing and people felt overly-moderated there. Don't take that as historical fact, it's just what's ringing a bell for me and might not be totally (or at all) correct. I think I might have spent most of my online time on the Arena, though my oldest posts from there seem to be missing. I may have only visited the TP when I wanted to sell things. I have some emails talking to a friend about my sale posts on MLPTP in like 2008?? But when I came back last year there was no sign of a Jellybean-based username so I grabbed it. And here was my first post on the TP after all that time, a lovely long thread that made me very happy. ^_^

ETA: I remember that I didn't register an account until Satin Slipper took over the TP and moved it to its current .net address. I also remember typing all of my posts in purple for the longest time.
