I just realized that this questions was related directly to the symbol and not the pony in general. So, the correct answer is NO.
Because of my mistake on this one, I will give you guys a BIG clue for her identity.
This pony was released in Year 8.
 
Hm... I have a wacky idea. Someone occurred to me that could be excluded from counting as a G1 or even a Basic Fun version of a G1 (despite being a Basic Fun product) because of being a severe variant. Of course, as I typed this another range of possibilities occurred to me as well.. But eh, I still feel like guessing it...
