Wow!!!! Didn't expect it this soon, to be honest. But that's great news!

I'm very excited about the boys, but honestly more excited about the Lyra, hahaha!

Now, if I can figure out how to find these darn blind bags without forking over my entire annual salary!!!
 
Wow, the third set of blind bags already? It would be nice if the distribution was a little less isolated and sporadic. I am really surprised they added boys to this set, I wouldn't have expected to see boys in any form for a least a couple more years, if ever. Like others have said regular sized boys can't be too far behind can they? Have they released a list of names and package numbers to go along with these ponies yet?

I really like the names that hasbro picked for some of the ponies. I see that people on an unnamed other site are all up in arms about it, but they are good! I love the name Heartstrings. And I hope they make Noteworthy into a real pony. He's a cross between Bluebelle and Medley....two of my favorite ponies. :)
 
Boy blind bag ponies are definitely a step in the right direction, if not as far down the path as we wish Hasbro would go--yet. Here's hoping for regular sized boys! As odd as it may sound, I actually like BOTH the Hasbro names and the fan names. I also like that the boy's hooves are not a different color than their body--that always bothered me in the cartoon.

According to Ponychan, here's what they came up with:
- Heartstrings will be Lyra's last name.
- Noteworthy is Blues' last name (although some people actually prefer Noteworthy, and are just going with that... like me!)
- Golden Harvest is Carrot Top's real name, but she prefers to go by her nickname.
- Berryshine is not Berry Punch at all, since she's a not a unicorn.

LOL! I can understand being a little annoyed, because those old names are what we have been calling them for almost a year now... But really, the new names sound more like typical pony-names anyway. Especially Noteworthy.
 
I LOVE Noteworthy... I hope he becomes a normal sized, come on boy normal size molds!!
 
Yay for boy ponies!! It's good to see Hasbro finally took back their all-girl line and decided to toss in some gents.

Kinda gotta laugh at the bronies who throw a fit the art and molds are DUMB RECOLORS. They don't seem to realize it would cost Hasbro superfluously more to get new molds designed when they can blatantly reuse their 5 blind bag molds and get just as much profit. We should be lucky they were so generous as to design a boy one!

It's like why there's only 2 normal-sized G4 bodies and maybe 6 different heads (for the horns/eyes that are imprinted). Why spend the money on more mold concepts and productions when you can obviously mix up a different plastic color and sell, sell sell.

I'm kinda glad that they only have a few molds for now... otherwise, the cost, in the words of the SNL guy, the cost of ponies would be TOO DARN HIGH

G1 had lots of different poses and such though, didn't it? Besides, Hasbro should be happy we're so willing to throw our hard-earned money at them, especially in this economy! It's a strange world when customers feel gratitude toward a corporation who deigns to provide products for sale which are actually desirable, rather than the flow of gratitude flowing the other way.

But feel free to laugh away, doesn't harm me any. :)

Eventually, but not in the beginning. They had the Collector's Pose first, then released the Bowtie pose and Bubbles pose for earthlings, the Firefly pose for pegasus ponies and the Glory and Moondancer poses for the unicorns. It was after that the poses really started changing! :)

Huh. So maybe just starting out with G4 is even more like what G1 must've been like for early fans than I originally thought--if they start coming out with more variety, as it's slowly looking like they might just do. Cool!
