I have a jacket I want to do some embroidery on so I might just use it as a Guinea pig

I'd propably suggest something thinner, and preferably non-strechy to start with (it's not like that's what I did in the first place, but do as I say, not as I do, I guess). Anyway, just make sure, whatever you're embroidering is nice and firm in your hoop. And don't forget to have some fun with it!

Little question for anyone who handsews!

Do you have a favourite spot, or a fourite kind of environment to sew in?

I love sewing on trains. I'm not sure why, there's just something soothing about it.

I've tried sewing in parks and public gardens, because I know that a lot of people love that, but the wind bothers me personally way too much.

Home is also not the best place for me to start sewing, because I sometimes feel like there is
just way too much stuff to do there. Obviously I still do arguably most of my sewing at home, but I just don't feel like it's the ideal place for me.

I would totally love to try and go to the library, but wouldn't that be weird? I feel like that might get me some looks. Or maybe it's just me overthinking it?

I should have explained myself better and sorry about that! I want to make patches for the jacket and jump into embroidery that way.

When I had sew I like to turn on an audiobook and put on my headphones so somewhere peaceful with good lighting is all I need.

I like sewing at home and listening to music. Don't have any place dedicated, just my bedroom. I plan to get some of those butterick care bears and some stuffing to make myself some stuffed toys.

I'm starting to lose it... I've just found some neon, and by that I mean NEON yellow polar fabric, but purple would be a strech, and no fabric store, or any of their suppliers have any, cause "it hasn't been in fashion" for THREE YEARS. Like, what?

And now I know why I was staring at the purple fleece at Joann's. I'd seen one of your post mention it before, and for some reason purple fleece stuck in my head but not why..

US chain. There was just a sale on solids and prints "blizzard" fleece for 40% off that ended on 08/31. Regular price was $14.99/yd.

I went in for dye and ribbon and got side tracked by the Halloween fabrics and fleece sale. I did need something to back this fleece:

It is indeed. I also have some yarn in the same color, that I bought to make a Surprise, but I never actually thought, I'd get fabric this color. It could make nice G3 March Daffodil, but I don't know, what else. Maybe I'll dye a little bit of it with a hint of green, and I'll make a Mimic.

I live in Europe, but thanks for the info anyway.:purpleheart: At this point I'm considering getting some white, and dying it purple. At least that would give me some controll over the exact shade. I'm still hopeful thought that maybe someone will make some for the second half of the winter season. Also, the kitty pattern is really cute!
I really love the neon color fabric! I haven’t bought fabric for a pony project in a long time but now I want to
It's really nice, I'm actually considering making a G3 March Daffodil out of it for my mom. Not what I was looking for, but half a meter of some fabric has never hurt anyone.

Based on your active hours, I figured as much. There might be a way to get some shipped over. Or check stores/second hand for purple fleece throw blankets.

The "not a trending color" part is really weird for a store since people use fleece for making non-clothing projects.

Right? But some sellers even straight up told me, that it's not a popular color, and that when they happen to have some, it doesn't sell well, which I find super odd, cause as far as I can tell it's one of the most popular colors among younger girls.
I've since found one seller, who said, they're supposed to get 10 meters of purple polar fabric about 2 weeks from now. That's really not a lot especially at the beggining of the season. I guess, I'll have to frequent the place, cause I'm taking at least 2 meters of that home with me. Who knows, how long I won't find any again.:sadpony:

Nothing meaningful to contribute here, I only really know how to repair clothes and even then I'm not very good at it. One day I hope to make plushies, though.

Nooo, I messed this one up... I cut it out before embroidering it

I was already on kind of a timecrunch, cause I wanted to make this Sweet September for my dad's birthday (I'm also making one for my mom before we fly off to the UK Ponycon together, and I wanted to make them matching birthday ponies with magnets in their hooves, so they can "hold hooves"). Now I gotta correct this, and I also wasted the fabric...

When you've been embroidering and reemroidering symbols for a while (I'm starting to hate stars), and then you find THESE... Not like I was planning to make a Heartthrob, but I'm sure I'm gonna get there one day...:heartthrob:

Oh goodness, they're so cute and teensy!

They are adorable! I used tiny bows I found once for a Bow tie instead of making them.

Looking for Crystal looking eyes for some mini plushies, these are the best I've found so far, but this color selection is not cutting it. I'd be absolutely in love with them if there could just be a few more colors... But no, because apparently whatever I'm looking for is simply not allowed to exist. Like, I still haven't found any purple polar fabric, because the store that was supposed to get them at the end of last week, didn't get any, cause before it was impossible to sell, but now there's a shortage... For some mysterious reason. And now this? This is starting to get a bit ridiculous.

Sorry, I've posted an unusual amount of rants today... I didn't take my meds in the morning, if that makes it any less bizarre.
